Default Backstage and it's number-system

Aloha !

So, I've got some brilliant news for you lot.

On May 18 my class is having a trip to Germany to see some shit museums there. Still, we're staying in Dusseldorf and my class is leaving on May 20. All of my class, but me, I'll be travelling to Gelsenkirchen. At the same time, another former colleage from me from the time that I was still building stands at concerts will arrive in the morning of May 21. He's part of the stage builders this tour (lucky him!) and has contacted me because of this, still knowing that I'm a big Bon Jovi fan. He asked me if he could join my gang as he's got a ticket for the show too. So far so good.

Now we all know what a shit system the number system is. That policy of "who camped must enter first, and who was first must be number 1 business is just shit, but still, it's a system Backstage introduced, so who am I to take that away from them?

Therefore I have decided to stay at Schalke Arena 2 nights before the show. I'll be camping there with another friend of mine who's coming over, and then we 3 will just jam along there with our guitars and whatever we bring along. I have contacted Schalke Arena and they said that it wouldn't be a problem at all (which surprised me to be honest), as long as we clean up our own garbage. So, all is well and we'll be organizing the number stuff this time.

Anyone who wants to be on the list has to act nice to me from now on, and ofcourse some gifts like blank CD's or a T-shirt will get you higher on the list. I'm starting the number system right away and anyone who wants to be on it just has to send me a PM.

I just love it when a plan comes together.

So, this list looks as follows:
1. Moi, le enfant terrible
2. George
3. Daniël
4. Thierry
5. The rest of my gang
6. The rest of my gang
7. The rest of my gang
8. The rest of my gang
9. The rest of my gang
10. This could be you!

P.S. The positions in front of Jon and/or Richie have already been taken.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I think that post and a couple a bucks will get you a cup of coffee LOL.

All fans seem to have a similar sort of numbering system for the die hards that want to be up front in the pit. It got so out of hand in the Bruce bunch that someone official finally got involved. Now whoever gets there first gets #1 etc. However, at 5 pm before showtime, that official someone pulls a number out of a hat (why is it always a hat?) and that number then becomes #1 and the people line up and enter in order behind them. Sometimes # 551 is pulled, so that 552 is next right until the end and then it goes back to #1 again to finish.

They did this as so many people bitched (and had parking lot fights) about having jobs and not being able to arrive early ever - and of the course the deadbeats without jobs could get there 2 days ahead of time.

Keep in mind that the Bruce bunch is way older than the Bon Jovi bunch LOL - and they're still squabbling like little kids

This reminds me of the Backstagers attempt at allocating numbers right after the first Milton Keynes gig in 2006 ... it was atrociously organised, but quite funny to see Kev getting so wound up about it

Any idea of how the stage is going to look?

Might I mention that anger management courses can help keep people out of jail
