I got onstage at the Coventry gig last tour, and maybe I was unlucky, but it absolutely wasn't worth it to me. I missed a good few songs waiting to go up, then getting up there was an absolute free for all, someone was tugging at my top from behind trying to pull me off the stairs, and I ended up with a ton of scratches!! Guys that had wristbands as their wives/gf's gave them to them got turned away for being guys! To be honest, you couldn't pay ME to get up there now. Like I say tho, perhaps I got unlucky, but I would still bet that the fighting to get up there carries on.

....Remember the Bada Bing bars?...now that was a cool way to be onstage...The sheep pits do look a bit of a scrum sometimes...but as I've never been up on stage...and alot of my mates have...I think I would want to do it just for the experience, just once.

Oh so they dont like men getting up there then? They just want the women .Hummm Not sure if i'd want to pay that amount to be told i cant go up . How many songs did you miss? It didnt look like a free for all at the O2 gig though so maybe you were just unlucky?

I missed easily 4 or 5 songs. We were told to line up at song 10 (which was a nightmare in itself, having to count how many songs had been played) then we were held side of stage for another 3 or 4 songs before getting on so missed quite a bit. I was in the last group to go up which I found out later was the supposedly "totty" group that specifically has to be all girls (not suggesting I am in any way totty btw!!). I'd never noticed all girl pits, but when I did the 2 MK shows later that week I looked and yep the last groups were all girls! Sucked for these guys tho, I felt really bad for them. The guy putting us up onstage said it was JBJ's rule, not his, and he would have let them up if he could blah blah.

From what I could see at O2 the pits were nowhere near as crowded so it did look quite sedate. When I went up at Coventry, there must have been 25-30 people in the pit, and a lot of those couldn't see.

I'm pretty sure people will still have as much chance getting up there for free as they would if paying for it come tour time.

Never been interested in the whole going onstage thing - for the exact reasons above - you just miss too much of the damn show.

My fiancee would like to try it, but for me, no thanks man. .

Jon's rules were to have all women in the pits at MK?? My God!! Could it get any worse?? Jon's rules will be age limits as well next!

That crew guy was talking crap June, it is absolutely not a Jon rule that there be all girls in the pit.

I dunno, it was a fact that the last groups up onstage during the UK tour were all girls, but who decides that is another thing. I was told it was JBJ, could have been crap, who knows. When the crew guy turned these guys away that was the reason given. I don't really care whose rule it was, just sucked if you happened to be a guy with a wristband that gets turned away for not having the right anatomical parts.

EDIT to be clear I'm not talking about every group onstage, comp winners etc., just the last one!
