Default Backstage update re: new rules on FC tickets from TODAY

The below is straight from Backstage...am sure this will attract a lot of discussion. I have an opinion on this but learnt a long time ago to keep them to myself. I'd wager this will be the new 'hot' topic on a lot of BJ message boards.

S.

NEW FAN CLUB TICKET INFORMATION!
In an effort to make things better for all fan club members, we here at Backstage have decided to change the way fan club tickets will be sold WORLDWIDE for all upcoming shows on the BOUNCE TOUR. As of today, WE ARE GOING TO CHANGE THE WAY FAN CLUB TICKETS ARE SOLD! FROM THIS DAY ON, for ALL Bon Jovi concert tours, we are going back to the old way, which some oldies may remember, EACH FAN CLUB MEMBER WITH A VALID MEMBERSHIP CAN PURCHASE ONE TICKET! The reasoning behind this is to allow fan club members to have access to the tickets held for them. Additional dates will be announced after the New Year. PLEASE KNOW WE ARE DOING THIS TO ALLEVIATE TICKET PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE AND BECAUSE WE THINK THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO HELP ALL OF OUR MEMBERS

This is just fair. Fanclubmembers first. There were a lot of FC-members who couldn't get fanclub-Tickets for America because other members got two and they were sold out too quickly.

In 2000 we only got one FC-wristband here, too, and it was okay.

Like Sambo-Chris says this is fair to fanclub members, just one thing though and I don't want to sound selfish but, i'm not a member of the fan club and I've got gold circle tixs for hyde park. will these new rules affect me or any other non FC members with Gold tixs in any way?

With Gold-ticket you can get into the pit anyway. You don't need any fanclub-arrangements. It could be of course that the FC-members without Gold-tickets get into some trouble because there's less room in the pit because of this Gold-ticket-stuff. It could be that there are less wristbands for fanclub-members than in ealier years because of these Gold-tickets.

But I don't know of course and really hope for the English FC-members that these Gold-Tickets don't affect the FC-arrangements for England. Unfortunately Backstage wasn't willing to give some infos before tickets went on sale so it could be that some FC-members payed twice for the pit (Fanclub-membership plus Gold-ticket).

Maybe I'm just a bit slow or something, but I don't get it. Does this mean Europe is going back to the same system as the US? You gotta show up yourself to buy the ticket? Then, that would equal no fc wristbands outside the venues...

If this means what I think it means (show up at the ticket office with your membership card and get a ticket) then... oh, well... There are always those regular tickets. If this is the case, do you guys think that the fc tickets would be any different from say gold/GA tickets? Or do you believe in wristbands, and this is just a way to ensure that each fc member gets one ticket?

Don't worry, for us everything stays the same. FC-tix are only in the countries where they have reserved seats. Since here everything is GA there's no need for FC-tickets.

Calm down. We'll get the infos about our wristbands a few weeks before the tour. It may be of course that we only get one wristband per membership. In earlier years we most of the times get two.

yours
Christine

I'm calm, I'm calm. I know it's a long wait still, and I wasn't trying to rush anything... Sorry if I came out sounding like that. I was just trying to get it clear cause I don't think I understood at all what it said there... But of course, it's only for reserved seating. Thx Christine!

Why worry, when you can obsess?

I don't like the new system, since I'm going to have to go alone now if I buy fan club seats...kind of defeats the purpose, in a way. Just my opnion. Now I don't know if it's worth camping out over night just for one seat...

Do you think it's worth to camp out for nothing? That's what happened some people at the fanclub-ticket-sale last time because there were maybe 200 tickets on sale but only 100 people who got tickets because they got 2, one of them for a non-member. All other fc-members got nothing. some of them really nothing since the FC-tickets went on sale after the generell sale.
