Bad Show?
I pulled this from Backstage, just to see other views of Friday's show.
The Friday show in Chicago at the Tweeter Center. This was the worst Bon Jovi concert I have ever seen. Now before you all start passing judgment on me, let me explain a little. I have been a Bon Jovi fan since 1985. I went to my first Bon Jovi show in 1987 and have seen every Chicago show there has been (with the exception of the House of Blues show, still mad I missed it). I have stood up for the Band for a long time. It's not easy being a Male fan of the Band. But I respect the band. And really dig their music. And I listen to the words, what each song has to say. I think Jon and Richie write some of the greatest songs together. They tell the stories of all of our lives. We can all relate to at least one song or another. I love listening the their music. It takes me away to another place.
Now back to the Friday show. Now I know there will be no other show like the one they played in Chicago at the United Center last winter. That, my friends was a very special night. A show of shows. We that were in attendance were very lucky to see a show like that. They were on top of there game that night. So I'm not comparing Friday's show to that one. I'm comparing it to every other Bon Jovi show I have seen. This show was not the 2 1/2 hour wild show I have come to expect. They really did nothing new. It lacked the power of their other shows. They did not impress me. I did have a good time, singing every word to every song. Someone even turned around and said they could not believe I knew every word to every song. But that's me, just a very big fan of Bon Jovi. I guess I just expected more from the boys. Well, I guess I'll have to wait till next time, the next show. And I can't wait for that one.
