Default Banners are now BANNED

From Matt on Twitter that all banners are now banned from shows.

Like I said in the thread for tonight's show, it's a ****ing joke. Just an excuse to shut down any type of requests.

Didn't someone say he played ITA at a show this tour because of signs? Why is he against them all of a sudden? It's not like people were bringing that many to begin with. I remember at a show a few years ago the person behind me brought a "Nice Package!" sign, and he pointed at it and laughed, but outside of that I rarely see them. It's a shame too because I've been thinking about bringing a sign to my Iowa show since I'll be close.

Unless they start confiscating them at the doors I don't see this stopping people anyway. Out of the 20,000+ people at a given show, how many of them are reading Matt's tweets?

I've had one confiscated at the door back in 1993. They used to not allow them so I don't see this as any big surprise. They're inconsiderate anyway. Who wants to be stuck behind someone holding up a banner? Keith Urban LOVES banners and it's a pain in the ass to be on the floor at one of his shows with 84 banners in your line of sight. I say good riddance.

Matt really is a colossal weapon. Does the band PR no good at all. Not that I'm a fan of banners by any means, they're bloody annoying, mostly juvenile and get in the way. And the amount of Youtube vids where you see Jon just come out and shake his head or flip the bird at a banner request is quite a lot it seems. However, we have got some decent requests out of them, and its a shame that Matt has been his usual rude self and tried to slap down their loyal fans like this (and lets face, no casual will have a banner). But then I expect nothing less.

I totally agree. Just my luck, though. I have a show this week and will be fairly close to the stage and was thinking of bringing a small sign request for a couple of songs = .

Another thing, I've always thought it was quite immature of Jon to flip someone off just because he doesn't "like" something someone does. A professional should just move on, and ignore the person, let security take care of it, if it's a real problem.

So, are they going to ban the women fans from throwing their bras on stage, as well?

Matt's way of going about it is off, yah, but it's not like this is his idea. He's saying Jon is behind it for whatever reason.

I thought Jon only flipped the bird in Bucharest at one of Rebekka's Banners....?

Has he done the same to song requests as well?

Matt is just a tool and an idiot.

The fact that people actually follow and listen to him baffles me.
