I personally think it sounds like it could be the best album since These Days.
But thats just me.
Everyone who knows me knows I am a lover of the first 6 albums then expect not a lot from then onwards but theres something about WAN that I like.
My time following the band may or may not be over but your indirect suggestion that my opinion is invalid because I'm one of the few who isn't jizzing their pants over mediocrity is silly.

I watched the gig last as you can guess from the posts. However, i am now listening to my radio recording on the TV and the sound is so much different! The radio was so much louder which adds to the new songs, granted it also means that Jon's early killling of a cat is also clear but he did improve. His vocals were a lot better for the Sandy concert.

I thought the gig was good, there isnt the same room to move about like Jon normally would on tour so not worried about that. Jon and Richie were pissed off with other but nothing too major, the little interlude between Bad Name was funny although Jon acted rather gay during it with how he spoke!! But it just shows it live and the band can adapt.

I thought the new material was really good although each song reminded me of other bands, even 'Im with you' at the start sounds like Oasis. However, the material does sound good and we now have heard 7 songs, 5 to go and we know Jon never plays/or plays only once at least 1 of the best tracks off the album!!

Because we can needs to grow on me. Album version sounds too complicated. Missed the longer drums at the start and I think Jon should start on his own.

What About Now, probably a 6.5/7 out of 10. Good parts and then some annoying parts which you have to wonder why they are in the song.

Amen, not sure what to add to what has been said

Whats Left of me, sounds similar to the others. Will be happy to listen to it at shows

Water, I can imagine everyone bouncing to this in the stadium or festival if it is played in the right place in the set!! Quite Kings of Leon like. Nice drums and guitar work. Love the outro, that extended will be cool! My favourite, upbeat but a good rock tune with interesting sounds, plenty of heavy drumming and guitars.

Army of One, could be great, just a tad overkill on the Never give Up. Couple that with the All Rights in Who Says and you have a song title 'Never give up, its all right!'

How can I get them on my ipod, thats what I am trying to work out??!!

Other song choice - Jon playing easy on his voice to save himself for the new ones?! Lost Highway is ok as at least they play it fast. WGIGO, hard to say, annoying but at concerts its been a good one. WLGO, take or leave it. Set was as I predicted except with many more new ones which is brave since the album is a long way away!! Imagine if we all hated them!! lol!!

They will get better by the time the tour comes to Slane so I will be happy especially as it will be the first time reasonalbly close to the front!! Hopefully a bit more atmosphere with everyone bouncing and singing!!

Its a good record as it has everyone loving some, not liking others etc, creating an opinion and getting everyone excited except Seb!!! But he is allowed an opinion as is everyone.

That leaves us with probably at least 2 more ballads in the final 5 songs!

Why thank you. I'm not the only one who doesn't get excited over this stuff though, judging from the PBP not many were too thrilled about the new stuff. And I haven't been that vocal about the new songs as others have on here either.

Why all the negativity? It's almost like people hate everything the band do.
That's because (apparantly) unlike you, some people on here can actually predict a song from start to finish now whenever Bon Jovi start playing something. Bon Jovi are no longer a band that writes songs that change their hook all of a sudden. If you've heard the first verse and chorus you're pretty much able to say as to whether you'll like it or not.

I'm getting a bit tired of people critisizing others for not liking something as opposed to getting into a debate with the same people over the reason why they don't like it. If you can't pick up on the same things others can within a few seconds you ought to wonder as to what you're missing out and aren't hearing as opposed to slating the opinion of such people simply because you disagree with them.0

It's not negative posts about the music that bring the negativity on this board. It's the constant negative posts about users that start all arguments all the time.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

In the interest of actually making this thread useful, here's a pic of the actual set list (though they may not have followed it exactly)

Thank goodness for the audibles then, because if I was at that show I would have been underwhelmed by the song selection from their back catalogue if it had just been those 12.
5 new songs, good..but of the 7 remaining slots and they play 3 Lost Highway songs, plus Who says and IML/Born to follow? Where's the KTF, NJ and TD etc albums?

Only a promo show I know and nothing to be too worried about, but the fact that Jon still places so much pride in 'Born to follow' and 'Who says' over a song like KTF in a setlist is a little worrying. Anyway, setlist bitching is for another thread and another time I'm guessing.. we'll talk about it in a month or so!

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

Please show me where I say your opinion is invalid?

I like the new two accoustic guitars, (Jonīs look like Blazo of Glory era)
Also itīs cool to see no ESP on Richie hands !

And itīs the first time that Jovi use in a song that "little toy" that plays Bobby instead a guitar pick in Whatīs Left of Me. Interesting. Sounds cool.

Jon is beginning to worry me somewhat if Prayer and Wanted are only going to be audibles on setlists
