Default Bells of Freedom

How come this one isn't a regular? I remember Jon saying in a past interview that he thought this song would sound the best live. I know a lot of people here hate it, I think it's a decent song, maybe even acoustic?

If I remember right, it got lame response from the audience and they ditched the song.

At least they have tried it out to see how it would go. I want I Am to get a run somewhere along the line to see how it goes, it'd be a shame to not even give it a chance.

I believe they played it the first two shows of the tour as the first encore and it didn't go over well with the audience. I know many don't care for that song but i really like it and would have liked to have heard it live. Especailly with how good Jon's voice has been sounding I bet ya live if he performed it with some passion it would have been good. Perhaps they should have played it in a different spot in the setlist and it would have worked better? Jon was excited to play that one but I guess he has changed his mind.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

I don't understand whats so bad about Bells. It aint my fave song on the album or anything(Partially becuz I can't decide which one I like best) but if you really listen and try to understand it at the point Jon was coming from when he wrote it, it's a pretty good song. Now I Am, if I could pick one fave, that one would be one of the one's pick from. I would like to hear or read that it was being played live and then see what those who heard it thought of it.

Yeah, I think Bells...is a decent song, and especially since Jon was so excited about it, if the crowd responded well they could have done wonders with that song...maybe it will reappear in Europe or on the next leg?

The song is a grower and has a nice melody. The problem is that the guitar work is not that good, and hence the verses lack an intense atmosphere. The chorus is not bad, the horrible lyrics put aside.

Unhappy

It's my favourite song on the album and would love to hear it live.
It may have got a bad response the one and only time they played it, but that maybe more down to the crowd that particular night.
I would have thought they would have played it a couple of more times just to try it.
Saying that, I think they have only played I wanna Be Loved once aswell!

Jon has said so much stuff that never came true. He's a bit of a dreamer apparantly ... or just lies a lot and glad he did it with BOF
