I don't expect them to come right out and say "Due to poor ticket sales", but to make up a flat out lie that Jon wants to be closer to the fans is just stupid. In that case, why play any stadiums at all?

People would have more respect for the band if they said "due to selling less tickets than expected" or something like that.

Not sure about Jon since he lives in La-La-land, but you gotta imagine Tico and Dave just want this disaster of a tour to be over with. Hugh and Bobby could care less.

I said this a few months ago - Ticket sales for Foxboro are horrible as well. People don't want to pay $200 per ticket for basically the exact same show they saw 2 years ago. And sadly, that is the reputation this band now has. They don't mix the set up enough, and what they do play, besides the hits that have to be played, isn't good.

I think it's merely the fact that people no longer want or can afford to pay 200 dollars per ticket period. I think the majority have no idea setlists are this similar, it's just the idea that it's the same show again, as in starting with Bad Name, ending with Bad Medicine, few covers + Prayer and Wanted and then the end.

For the amount of money a Bon Jovi show costs, especially in America, you ought to expect a spectacular light show, fireworks and good musicianship. Instead you get a band on autopilot just rushing themselves through the hits. If you present that too often, eventually people will realize they've seen it one too many times.

Bon Jovi always were a great band for 50E a ticket, and it's telling that the only show that's sold is Madrid, for which the most expensive tickets were...50E.

Agree. The only reason I might go to this year's concert in La Plata is because Nickelback is opening for them, the setlist in 2010 was the same than this one. Why would I pay to see the same setlist but with a Jon with a worse voice and without Richie?

About the small venues, I started thinking about the band doing acoustic gigs in small venues and... god, that'd be great. One can only dream.

Agreed. Casual fans don't know and don't care that the setlists don't change, but they will notice that the show hasn't changed.

Add a lack of support acts for Europe too, they constantly underestimate how much of an effect this has. People want bang for their buck and having other bands to make a day of it on a stadium tour is a must. I can't think of many other acts, bar Springsteen, that won't have at least 1 recognised support act on their tour.

Given how similar this tour is to the last few, I think a lot of casuals would baulk at paying a fair wedge again to see the same tour more or less.

Oh great... I was thinking about going to Munich or Berlin, since in Germany Munich is always a safe choice for a great concert (& my last concert in Leipzig 2008 was easily one of their worst, an experience I didn't wanna make again...) and on the other hand Jon was quite excited about playing the Olympic Stadium in Berlin... Decided to go to Berlin... Sucks, especially when looking at their Munich setlist...

Totally uncalled for (Rovers fan here)

Different kettle of fish though,Jon is still very much in charge in Jovi land. That said he must be aware that people are turning their backs on the band.

They need to give to the fans something that they'll bring them back, something really fresh and unique. They did it in the 80s, they did it in the 90s, they did it in the 00s why can't they do it in their 10s? It's their fourth decade they still got it, I think that JBJ (w/o blaming him) needs to give some space to the rest of the band members too. And please someone fire Bobby Bandiera & John Shanks. Bring back Luke Ebbin or Bob Rock, but not John Shanks, he SUCKS! Why don't they create an album written just by the band members and maybe Desmond too? With a proper producer it might be good.
Cannot disagree - I tend to listen to Lost Highway and These Days over everything else. I don't even know all the words yet to all the WAN songs. Honestly I listen to Dave's musicals too as much as Bon Jovi. I think maybe this is a wake up call to Jon. Go out and be who you are not what you think you want to be.
