Thank you for confirming that for me Kathleen. I thought I was losing my mind and I was at the show, lol!! I agree, wasn't horrible just not the best.

I've heard some boots from the Slippery tour and on some of them, Jon's voice sounds incredible. Anyone ever heard one of the shows from Cincy that year? Near-perfect. His voice wasn't wrecked for the WHOLE tour keep in mind. I've heard similiar boots from the New Jersey tour as well with high notes being hit on the Prayer chorus and everything.

I'm not exactly sure when he started skipping chorus parts on this song. I'm guessing it started on the Keep The Faith tour. Both Prayer and You Give Love A Bad Name sound ten times better in terms of the vocal harmonies if you can find a good performance from the Slippery or New Jersey tour.

One of my personal favorite performances in terms of Jon's voice is the show from Japan in 1985 which took place on 4/28. I believe the performance of Runaway is on the live CD, but I have the entire show, and it truly is sad how dead accurate his voice used to be compared to now.

Dubbed in the studio...as was standard practice with live concert vids in those days. It probably wasn't even neccessary...but that was how it was done. You aren't hearing his actual performance from that night....which is a shame because watching it...it looks like he was delivering.

I just this morning saw a bootleg from Arrowhead Pond during the Bounce tour and f*ck me Jon sounded brilliant, the whole band were on top form and to be honest I really didn't expect that much but I'll be damned if I wasn't blown away. That's two full shows from the Bounce era I've seen on dvd (the other one Shepards Bush) and they are two spectacular shows where Jon's voice is terrific, and really there's no majorly significant decline in his voice in those shows to ones I've seen from the KTF tour and the These Days tour. When I saw them in Dublin in 2003, they were amazing but it is hard to really listen critically during a concert and I know know three shows dosen't tell the story of the entire tour but hell, on that evidence, so much for Jon's voice going to hell during the Bounce tour.

I'd really love to see one of these "Have A Nice Day" concerts to see how Jon's voice is sounding at the moment.

Best: Bed of Roses

Worst: Any version of songs off of This Left Feels Right - really rubbed me the wrong way - I just kept waiting for the band to let loose and they never did
