Default Best Live Improvisation??

Influenced by Sambora Queens Fantasic sig, (Milton Keynes 93??) I love that version of IBTFY and anyone who prefers TLFR version should be made to listen to that track to see what makes that song so F'ing great live!!

Obviously Always Wembley 95 is another classic as well as Bed of Roses with the "i cant help falling in love" intro.

My favourites are some of the little speeches from the build up to the solo in Dry County.

The speech from the 'Keep Me Hanging On' cover at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1990 is just pure f**king rock!!

How I long for those days to return.

Cheers,

Mikey

the breakdown in the middle of KTF is one of my favs, wether they go into sympathy and jungle screams etc or not, its always cool when they play about in that part of the song, Richie with the chunky guitar scratching and tico on the toms and jon messing around with the merracas.

The speeches in dry county live are good too, as obviously Always from wembley is too. Blood on on blood has some cool adlibs in the middle part too in early recordings, with richie singing loads of parts (MK 89 is a good one)

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

IBTFY has the best improvisations of any Jovi song in my opinion. There are so many great versions with long, long adlibs that are superb. My current signature is actually from Cinicinatti 2000. It is a little different from the MK adlib. Other great versions of IBTFY with adlibs include:

Pittsburgh 2001
Santiago 1990
Giants 2001
and of course MK 1993

I actually made a CD a few years ago with live IBTFY's back to back to back to back because they are all such great performances.

I would also vote for the improvisation in these songs:

Blood on Blood from Moscow ~ the breakdown in the middle, especially Richie's part is just utterly amazing

Blood on Blood Wembley 1990

and of course one of my other all time fave live performances

Ride Cowboy Ride Tokyo New Years Eve.... BABY COME ON... BABY COME ON!

That one is just the best!

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

I absolutely love the version of Living in Sin from Santiago 1990.

There are some great live versions of Saturday Night out there too. One particular stands out and I think its from Cincinnati 2000, but I might be mistaken. I just remember hearing it and saying "Wow"
