The best Prayer is from Rotterdam 1989-12-06 with crowd singing the first verses.
That's the one!

Cheers

The Cincinnati one I think they use playback on the chorus. Not sure really.

I've never been crazy about the 80's era LOAP's honestly. A tad too style over substance for me. The song itself, like most things live-Jovi, was at it's peak in the Mid-90's. But I do think it holds up pretty well nowadays honestly, especially due to the crowd reaction.

I agree... I've always thought of the Cincy 87 version as a bad one.

From one point, every Prayer on SWW tour had the background track for chorus plus the band (Richie, David, Alec) singing over it and Jon just miming it. The background track is stil there but it is used as a backup, it is not loud in the mix and of course, the band and Jon are singing over it.

I don't know what you all have with 90s being the peak. All of the 80s songs sounded miles miles better in 80s than in 90s. The best example is I'd Die For You. And yes, Prayer, eg from Rotterdam 89, was better then. To be fair, KTF tour versions are very similar and the song as such hasn't changed that much.

So this is a song about having a dream and chasing it, till you find the Bright Lights." - Aldo Nova.
