Best shows of 2010 and 2011

Yeah, I totally get what you mean.

All I was say is, if you and a few others look at things impartially and choose the best show from set lists, YT videos then hopefully it'll balance out the thread.

And that's what I did. Those shows I put were performed extraordinarily. It's just a coincidence that the best setlist (Sydney night 3) had brilliant execution.

Point of the thread is to debate it. Yes, some will say their favourite but good to see honest opinions if they were at a show and it wasn't as good a show.

And I'm actually struggling to figure out which of my three shows would be my favourite!
O2 London 19th june, Munich or Dublin 1 this year. Most will have read and understood/agreed/disagreed re my review on Dublin and the sound issues - noteably picked up by the review on the home page - the the encore of that show was awesome. Mmmmmm......

Sydney 3, Dublin 2 and Bucharest are certainly the obvious contenders.
Whilst The O2 run was great for rarities over the course of the run, no one show stood out as being excellent. I would say night 2 was the best, closely followed by the 17th June. However, they have both been superceded lately, especially with DC/ALW/TD becoming more or less staples.
I only did HRC this leg, and thought it was perfect for what it was- a 3 hour greatest hits setlist. Hey God aside, there were no rarities per se, but it was a great gig and a great effort, especially considering Jons legs and the setlists of shows in the run up to it. It would make the top 5 of the 2011 leg certainly.

With any luck we have yet to see the best show of the tour so far...

Urgh, San Sebastian was a train wreck... The first part of the show was everyone messing up songs and the second part was Jon on autopilot. This Ain't A Love Song was really nice, but was performed with next to zero emotion. The only good thing about the show was that it was probably the best crowd of the tour. The show only picked up with the band when they started playing Love This Town and Twist and Shout.

How good a show was has nothing to do with a ruddy setlist. How many more times....
