Best Tour Suprise song

Just another post because I'm bored with time to kill.

For all you people who have seen numerous tours, or even just one show... Jon likes to pull out the suprises every now and then (I would've DIED to hear Wild is the Wind and Living in Sin in Toronto... instead I got Everyday in Tampa)...

What is everybody's favorite 'I can't believe he's playing that song!!!!' moment? Either in a good or bad way, but hopefully good... for me it would be them pulling out 'Damned' on the OWN (Crush) tour in Detroit a few years back... given that I was probably the only person in the audience who owned These Days and certainly the only one in my general vicinity who knew the song. Sounded awesome too... noticed that there have been NO These Days songs in the U.S. setlist but Europe should be chock full of them, I imagine.

So everyone, when was the last time the band majorly suprised you with a song choice?

Living in Sin at the second Toronto show. No question. Within those three snare hits, I knew what was going on and grabbed the person to my rights wrist. Im sure I shreiked "OH SHIT NO WAY". I was 2nd row centre so I didn't want to freak out TOO bad, as the band could see me quite clearly. Damn being 6'5.

The whole Kiel Show in 2003. First half acoustic, Living in sin, Fever and a lot of other songs I didn't expect to hear live in acoustic version. I've seen a lot shows before and some after Kiel, but this is the show I will never forget.

was it someone you knew or just a dude who happened to be sitting next to you? If it was a stranger I bet the look on his face when you grabbed him and started yelling shit was priceless.

You should have totally freaked out. Then you would know you would always have a place in their memories as "that frigging crazy, tall, Canadian ****er"

I was nicely surprised by Run Run Rudolph because I was thinking it was too early for them to start Christmas songs.

I didn't know you were that tall - you should post a picture here as many of us have My son used to have a friend that was 6'8" and my cat loved riding around on his shoulders - the highest point in the house LOL.

My favorite no shit moment was In These Arms at Atlantic City and I Wish Everyday Could Be Like Christmas at Continental. I hadn't heard Christmas live before - ever. And In These Arms has really made itself scarce until recently.

During my drive from Madtown to Milwaukee we were listening to New Jersey and Blood on Blood came on, I told my wife I would give anything to hear Wild is the Wind or Blood on Blood tonight and sure enough they played BOB during the encore and I freaked out.

Never Say Goodbye in St. Louis in 2000. I thought I would NEVER EVER hear that song live because it's so rare! With the way I travel to a couple of shows a tour, the odds are not in my favor to hear anything really out of the ordinary. So, when Jon came back onstage and started singing that song, I was overwhelmed!

Never Say Goodbye in Saint Paul, Minnesota of this year. I have always longed to hear the play that song and so I decided that for this show I would bring a sign requesting it. I had really good seats on Dave's side of the stage right by the side ramp so Jon could see my sign whenever he came by. After the first encore Jon stood alone on the stage looking at the setlist deciding if there was anything left to play. He then brought the band back out and declaired that they would play "Blood on Blood". Then suddenly right before starting up the music he said "there was a girl over there with a sign, I think I'll play that. I just hope I remember the words" Of course it was Never Say Goodbye. Needless to say I was screaming. I had one sister with me and another one listening on the phone and it was one of the greatest moments ever! That song will always be extra special to me now. After the show I must have listened to it 20 times that week to recapture the moment.
