Wasn't the Ryman originally a church? No wonder the acoustics are superb.
They played The Fox on December 12, 1994. That was the year they did a handful of Christmas shows for charity.

Yes, the Ryman originally was a church.

yeah I bet!! I would love it if the band did arena's again!
I's just a whole different experience and much less hassle, what with waiting and standing around for hours and hours in the blazing sun or rain, with sometimes two shitty support bands! Christ! You have been through the mill backwards before the boys even hit the stage! LOL

I love the smaller arena shows, less time waiting around, a good sold out crowd, great atmosphere, everyone up close and personal getting sweaty and good acoustics!

Yeah, I agree. That was probably my favourite on the Bounce tour (apart from the SBE promo show).

Actually, the Jovi calendar that came out with the picture from that gig has a horrid picture of me behind my wife in front row, with my mouth open like a landed fish while I think Prayer or something was playing.

We framed it anyway though lol

There's something about seeing the band at Giants, I'm really going to miss it this tour. But I really liked seeing them at MSG, that was definitely one of the better shows I've been to.

I thought that was a better show than the two at Man City and the atmosphere was second to none! I even thought that show was better than Hyde Park which was the next day!
I had been hoping to go, but had one of my final a-level exams late in the afternoon so I couldn't have made it over there in time I loved the show there in 2006 and thought that this year was even better - in terms of setlist, performance, energy and the fact they played for so long!

Of the 4 I've seen I'd say Manchester this year was my favourite. It may have been partly that the setlist totally blew me away - as I've mentioned elsewhere, I hadn't read any of the European setlists so every aspect of that first show just blew me away! I was surprised to hear Dry County again (and done so much better than last time) and songs like Blood On Blood, Last Cigarette, Diamond Ring, Always - just a day that will stay with me for a long time to come!

I would have to say Giant's Stadium easily. First off, Bon Jovi usually ends their tours in their backyard, so they are more than likely going to play an amazing show, which they always have, even in the rain. Second, the setlists are out of this world. I went to a Giant's Stadium show where Jon played a five song first encore and a four song second encore, which totaled nearly 30 songs. There just isn't anything like Giant's Stadium, it simply is the best.

MSG would be a close second though. If Giant's Stadium had a dome on it, it would be superb, because the sound would be much better, so this is why MSG is so great. The sound is perfect inside of MSG, and anybody who has never been there should definitely check it out. There also is not one bad seat at MSG, as with Giant's Stadium either.

Regards,

Jason F.

I was at that show.

I'm not sure I have a particular fave venue. Of course attending the secret small shows were highlights. The secret London Astoria show in 1992 will always stand out in my memory.

Only seen two shows; LH-tour Olympic Stadium Helsinki, Finland(44 000 people) and Crush-tour Hartwall Arena Helsinki, Finland(14 000 people). Both shows were great even though I cannot remember anything about the arena show. I have never before been in a stadium concert so it was very cool with all those people and great weather.... But I still have to say that next time they are coming to Finland I hope it will be a indoor show.... And the sound wasn't that good in Olympic Stadium...

I've only seen them twice:

Nijmegen 2006 - Hand Tour - Poor show, 9 songs of the HAND album were played, Jon wore a dead lion on his head and his voice wasnt that good either

Gelsenkirchen 2008 - LH Tour - Allthough I really missed Blaze in the setlist it was an ok show, far better then Nijmegen, Jon's voice was way better and the dead lion was gone. Richie even ran over the stage !

Though those 2 don't come close to the best venue I ever been at, since you asked for BJ concerts, here you go.

I salute you,
Thunderstrucker
