April 15. 2010

Bon Jovi sits at No. 1 atop this week's Hot Tours rankings based on reported box office stats from 12 arenas on the act's The Circle Tour. Concert totals from March 8 through April 11 were reported by promoter Concerts West/AEG Live adding over $25 million to the band's overall tour gross which has now reached the $40 million mark. Five of this week's 12 reported venues booked the tour for two-show engagements including Montreal's Bell Centre which produced the best overall gross and attendance totals. The 21,242-seat arena grossed more than $4 million from two performances (March 19-20) with 37,526 fans buying tickets. Next was Wachovia Center in Philadelphia that filled 36,697 seats during two sold out performances (March 23-24) with tickets sales topping $3.4 million. The American Airlines Center in Dallas (April 10-11) and St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center (April 7- also sold more than 30,000 tickets during two-night runs. The Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. brought in the band for two nights (March 26-27), while seven additional venues had single performances. All shows were sellouts.

The tour kicked off in Hawaii with two performances at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu (Feb. 11-12) and then headed to Seattle followed by shows in six more west coast markets. The top numbers, as reported by promoter Concerts West/AEG Live, came from a single sold out concert at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas with 14,803 tickets sold and grosses topping $2.6 million. Providing support is Florida-based rock band Dashboard Confessional, which is tapped to open most of the shows during the first North American leg of the tour.

am i right thinkin they have played to over 500,000 folk alone on the usa leg, more fans seen em live that have got the circle cd

Why are some venting here????

Sure, tickets are expensive, but... people are still buying!!! BJ would be dumb to change it, as long as their fans are getting tickets!!

Yes, till now they did play to over 500 000 but the USA leg isnt over. New Jersey gigs will push the numbers through the roof!
