Like most bands there are certain songs they have to play:

Livin' On A Prayer
You Give Love A Bad Name
Wanted Dead Or Alive
Bad Medicine
Keep The Faith
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
It's My Life
Who Says You Can't Go Home

All of the above either are hits or songs that set the average crowd alight. These I think will always be selected.

You then have:

Runaway
I'd Die For You
Raise You Hands
Wild In The Steets
Born To Be My Baby
Blood On Blood
I'll Be There For You
Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
In These Arms
Just Older
Capt Crash
Have A Nice Day

All these do seem to get a fair run in the set list etc. They could easily pick 1/2 from this list, that is 14 songs so far, which would still leave space for new album tracks (5 songs?) and a couple of rare tracks.

Easy right?

They played DC at one Giants show, and Wild Is The Wind at another, and neither got any reaction from the crowd. None.

After watching the Giants show from 2001, none of the crowd gave any reaction to any song as alot of the audience were sat down.

Yeah, but that's America for you. As soon as the band started Dry County in Dusseldorf the whole stadium knew something special was happening. I've never experienced anything like that at any show of any band. To think that the band could pull a song out of the bag like that at every show and not doing it because "Jon doesn't like the lul" is bullshit. There was no lul in Dusseldorf at all.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I agree. Especially since he can't even sing prayer.

But you say that from the point of view of a die hard fan who's seen the band a load of times. If it was your first time and you'd paid £50, wouldn't you want them to play Prayer? Hell, even people who only own Cross Road, if they have paid £50 to see the band, deserve to be considered when crafting the setlist. I've seen Alice Cooper twice without owning anything more than his greatest hits album, and I think it's quite possible that I wouldn't have enjoyed it enough the first time to go again if he hadn't played School's Out and Poison.

I agree with Hackster73 really, there's certain songs that they really need to play every show for the casual fans (although I don't think either Bad Medicine or Sleep When I'm Dead are among them). All it really needs is two or three rarities and a few semi rarities to keep the die hards happy, the Lost Highway European tour proved that

Isnt it amazing that people will complain about the setlists, then they'll complain about the albums and then they'll complain about the ticket prices.
But in the end,Almost all of you will end up going to the shows.
Dont be so hypocritical,i dont care what they play.As far as im concerned all their songs are great.
Jbj will basically play what he thinks are the hits for the masses,In Sydney 2008 they played who says you cant go home and the crowd were so dead. This song was a huge let down, the audience was the best i have ever seen at a bon jovi show and when they played this and radio saved my life tonight the crowd just died.
So, while there's quite a few people that want to hear songs from these days, and thats me included,80 per cent or so want to hear the hits.I can fully understand jon wanting a crowd thats going crazy instead of a few people getting excited at bon jovi playing a rarity.
Enjoy the shows people it could be the last time you get to see the greatest band on earth.

That's not true at all. I was there both nights, and that crowd was rockin'.

I'd have to agree - I was also there both nights. The vh1 version actually turns down the audience noise so that it sounds as if there isn't much of a reaction. Keep in mind that it's a SBD show. Watch the bootleg of night 2 to get a better picture of how it really sounded.
