Default Blaze of Glory

Is it just me (or does anybody see.....) who doesn't think that a JBJ solo record should get so many outings on this tour? It is bad enough that it was included on the Greatest Hits album again when there are plenty of BJ (the band) songs that were hits and omitted. I just think that fairs, fair and if JBJ wants to throw 'BOG' into the setlist then a spot for Richie & David to showcase their solo efforts should be in there too! Other than that, just play band records - there's certainly enough of them and on a greatest hits tour, it should surely be BJ (the band) songs that takes the spotlight. JBJ is bound to be doing some solo shows after this tour (he's hinted as much) so play it then!

It's my opinion only - discuss?!!

I don't really have a problem with it, and I don't think anyone would have a problem if Richie brought out Stranger In This Town, either.

As for David, don't forget he did Memphis Lives In Me back in May. And for a regular solo song, he could do a piano intro to Dry County like they used to, and use one of his solo songs for that.

It was on Crossroad too, its pretty much been adopted as a Bon Jovi song even though Richie often doesn't do any backing vocals for it. If anything, it doesn't get played enough on the current tours.
And with the above, they should definitely try and throw some more intros in- let Richie do Midnight Rider into Wanted, Tico and Dave do a long LYHOM intro etc. and let Jon take the weight off his leg for a few minutes to help him with the pace of the show. It helps him, and yet its good for us too!

I don't have a problem with Blaze at all as I love that record, plus, the song was a hit, at least in the US. I say play it!!

Blaze is a great song and to most casuals, it is a Bon Jovi song... partly because to most casuals Bon Jovi = Jon.

It's one of the biggest hits in the catalogue and the most critically acclaimed song of the bunch (won Golden Globe and AMA, nominated for multiple Grammys and an Oscar). It ought to be played more often. Richie's done solo songs before and they go over like a lead balloon. I'd rather he did one of his own songs than singing a Bon Jovi song, but he doesn't get a good reaction. By singing a BJ song, Richie gets a turn in the spotlight but it doesn't sink the atmosphere of the show. I think it would be nice to see Richie, Dave, and Tico take turns singing. I don't think all three should sing every night though.

The main reason I would much rather see Richie perform a song from his own catalogue is because the man never tours his own material.

If he did a small tour every 4-5 years, I wouldn't be bothered that he sings IBTFY/LYHOM whenever he has the opportunity to sing lead.

It would be cool if Jon gave Richie, Dave and Tico about 10-15 minutes in every show and the boys could decide what to do with it themselves. It could be a solo song performance or just everyone getting to show off their skills.

This. Can't care less if it's just Jon's. If it didn't get played it would be just another song in the long list of songs that are great and unplayed. I liked hearing Blood Money too last tour.
