Bobby is a gimp but he adds something to TWTWMM. I'm starting to think he might have had a lot more influence in the new album than Richie.

Interesting theory. What makes you say that?

From what I've heard of the new album it sounds a lot more in Bobby's style than Richies. I'm just speculating though.

I could see Shanks having played a bunch for sure.

Bobby is fram from useless, his guitar playing may be pretty shitty at times, but his voice is outstaning. Probably the best, or at least one of the best singers in the band. His voice clearly adds a lot and sometimes his vocals are mixed as high as Richies or Daves. Hell, he has even taken over the high harmony part in Bed of Roses because Richie simply can't reach it. No matter what you say, his voice is adding A LOT.

His guitar playing is sometimes useless, and is it only me or has his guitar lately been mixed a little higher than before? Back in 2005 you could barely hear him. His solos are totally useless, it's so bad it's embarissing.

He do play some important parts like the intro to When We Were Beautiful, What Do You Got, Whole Lot of Leavin. He plays the fast verse riff in Lost Highway. In Water Made Me he is doing the cool E-bow and in What About Now I think he is playing along to the riff that is in the intro and halfway through the chorus. In Dry County I really enjoy the harmony he is doing with Richie, I think it really adds something. I'm not really sure but didn't he play along to the main riff in Love's the Only Rule as well? He do play the verse "riff" in What About Now while Richie has plays the chords. He also plays acoustic guitar on Bed of Roses which is nice, even though it's mixed very low.

I do think Bobby has his place in the band, mostly as a singer but sometimes his guitar is needed. If he just could stay away from solos I wouldn't mind him at all.

Exactly. So he adds something to 1 song and takes away something from 25 others. Yeah, good trade off.

Why? They managed just fine (in fact, without argument, better) without him for 20+ years. All he adds to me is sub-par guitar playing, an excuse for Richie to be lazy, a member of the band less cool than Hugh and one of the dumbest hairdos I've ever seen on a human being.

Well, as I stated he covers up a lot for Jon's vocals these days. And some songs from LH , TC & WAN would be impossible or at least very hard to without him. Bon Jovi's overproducing in the studio can't be done live by Richie alone. On the old songs I agree that Bobby is doing absolutely nothing. I'm not trying to defend the poor excuse for a guitar player, I'm just saying that it is just unfair to deny that the fact that he is doing SOME help, even though it's very rarely. I love his voice and think it has its place in todays Bon Jovi.

And yes, his hair is terrile to go slightly of topic. No person in the world can willingly go to the barber and ask for that haricut, just no...
