For example, for Nickelback in Montreal at Bell Centre arena, Billboard showed the attendance of just over 16K as a sell out but when Bon Jovi played there the sell out was 20K. However, attendance is the attendance the over 1.5 million, sold out or not, is an audited number determined nightly by the tour and venue accountants.

I totally agree deb, i dont understand why many fans feel the need to question every accomplishment, important or not. may be bono had a back surgery but on the other hand bj laid their tour in a more relaxed way(the whole european stadium leg would really strengthen the final numbers), i believe that u2 are a bigger band touring wise but bj are close, with less promo, less press and many hits from critics media etc.
Any way you see it its an important accomplishment for the band, very very few acts can deliver in such level for so many years and we can question (some more than others...) jons decisions-motives-statements etc but bj is one of the few bands that make records and goes out on the road and gives their soul night after night for so many years, without publicity bullshits like comeback tour- farewell tour-no personal stuff just their music, sometimes supporting great albums sometimes average. i get critical too sometimes its logical when you are a fan but questioning absolutely everything is irittating.
