Tokyo is not sold out for years from what I heard from my japanese friends (but don't expect them to advertise it publicly those 'stories' are discussed in private ).This is why they drastically decreased the number of shows. They should have not decrease the number of shows but the venue size. But it seems there is a sort of commercial deal with that venue (it's probably cheaper for the tour to book 2 nights at the tokyo dome than 6 nights in different venues and also it is less work for the band ).
To me it seems there will be an issue sooner or later with the size of the venues overseas... overseas shows represent a lot of benefits because it is less shows (less work) in bigger venues (which is less comfortable for the fans ) in less different places (ppl have to travel more) ... it may become a time when bon jovi will have ,to keep the overseas market customers satisfied and interested , to tour like they do in the usa more dates in more different smaller venues to make the same money but with more efforts and more work (x3 at least)
for now overseas market is juicy because the customers are less picky (the band is also showing their gratitude and indulge great setlists.. it is far from being just bad things to get only huge stadiums)..
Japan is the first country to show less support (by not selling out even just 2 dates -the bad seats didnt sell .. ppl want a better view a more intimate feeling than seing the band with binoculars) Average Japanese fans are not interested anymore .. and the result is that they got just 2 shows and an average setlist this time ... Is it connected or not ? I maybe should not debate but maybe we should not be too naive ....we get what they think we deserve
