I reckon Bon Jovi are lucky they've got an audience that consists mostly of fans who rarely go to other bands anymore and have no sense of what other acts offer. Once you start comparing like you're currently doing Bon Jovi is in no way in the same league anymore.
The reason Bryan Adams is still as popular as he is in Europe despite not having had a big European hit in 20 years is because he's always kept his prices low and is a consistent live act. I've paid 40 Euro's for a Bryan Adams ticket in 2003 and 50 for Bon Jovi. I paid 65 for Bryan Adams last year and had to pay 100 for a similar Bon Jovi ticket. And Holland is a relatively cheap market, prices in the U.K. have increased a lot more. Both acts still offer the same thing they did 20 years ago but while one act has gotten a lot worse Bryan Adams plays longer shows than he did back then, does a more varied set than he did back then and still seems to enjoy himself on stage all the time.

True, there's not a lot of bad stuff you can find on Bryan Adams' live performances. Super steady and you can feel he still enjoys being on stage. I've seen him a few times and while I was never blown away by his shows, it was always solid. Anytime before 2010 Bon Jovi would have been able to impress when playing after Bryan Adams but right now, I honestly do not know how they will be able to top Bryan Adams. Not that music is a competition in any form, but he shows no sign of slowing down and he can lean on a greatest hits catalogue that is easily as impressive as Bon Jovi's
I even believe that the 'casual' music fan of this genre will know more Adams songs than Bon Jovi songs.
There will also be a lot of fans who buy tickets to see Bryan Adams and who'll think about Bon Jovi as another 'nice to have' while not having seen them before. Unless Bon Jovi is going to play a hits packed setlist with all their big ballads and Blaze of Glory back in the set, I'm affraid Bryan Adams fans will be unfamiliar with 70% of the Bon Jovi setlist while the other way round, everyone will know more than 70% of what Adams will play.
I really wonder how that tour will go down although it is a great bill in my opinion.
