Get me started on the live CD or the ballads on Crush and Bounce sometime. LOL I don't villianize the band members, but I don't think everything they do is great and perfect.

Just in reply to the original topic from Supersonic...I reckon I have to disagree with that opinion.

When you think about it Bon Jovi are known amoung people for their absolute classics.....not their songs that never got released. So it makes sense to play them at their concerts!

Also when i'm at a concert and Bon Jovi fire up for their classic songs I reckon its awesome...personally i'd rather hear them play their best material mostly, and then possibly just throw in one or two songs from left field.

You obviously didn't get my point at all...You think it's necessary to play the big hits, but it isn't. Lots of other artists don't do this, McCartney probably has got the biggest back catalogue ever and even he doesn't play big hits only. And their best material doesn't mean their hits. Or are you saying you're preferring Everyday over any song pre 2000?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I agree with everyone that it's time to mix up the setlists. I've only seen them live 4 times, but I've put the setlists for the past 3 tours on my fansite, and most times, I can just copy and paste the setlist from the night before. Sure I have to make tiny changes, but basically it's the same songs in the same order night after night.

Obviously the core "hits" have to stay, and as Bad Name was the song that introduced me to the band, I always love hearing it live.

But there are some songs I do not ever want to hear again like Capt. Crash. And the Shout medley should be replaced.

And I'd like to have more "speeches" from Jon. I always like it when the singer talks to the audience, especially when they've taken the time to learn something unique about the city they're in. For example, in Toronto 2000, Jon talked about how he'd made Moonlight & Valentino in Toronto. And when Matchbox 20 played here in Halifax in 2003, it was only 4 days after we'd been hit with a major hurricane, and Rob Thomas joked that we had only come to the concert because it was a place that had electricity!

And lastly, I hope they tour the cities they've avoided for the past 10 years, because more than anything I'd love to see a concert without the time and expense of going on a mini vacation. I'd even be willing to suffer through Capt. Crash, if they'd just come to Halifax again!

I don't exactly see why the Bounce tour wasn't that great setlist wise. Sure, there were no Grand Rapids night, but remember (and don't bash the performance, I'm only illustrating some rarities):

Always reintroduced. This was last played during the These Days tour
I'd Die For You (first appeared in Belgium 2003). Wasn't played since 1996.
Damned was there in Toronto.
Wild is the Wind was played at least in Japan.
I Believe was played in Japan, Holland and Germany.
Living In Sin was played.
Something To Believe In in acoustic sets.
Heroes was a newly introduced cover song, just as Have A Little Faith In Me and Lola.
They played some rare covers in Japan (Peppermint Twist)

I remember before the Bounce thing took of setlist discussion were also here. Some people said they got tired of LYHOM. That one was pretty much off the setlist during the Bounce tour. But it was considered kinda like a rarity when it reappeared (Ostende, HP).

Sure, if it were for me they wouldn't have to play Bad Name, Everyday and Bad Med. for me, but I think the band considers those songs as the songs that Seb mentions that have to be played like Prayer and IML.
Plus each bandmember has it's input. The Bounce tour had 2 regular love songs (In these arms and There For You) and the latter is Richie's influence in the set. He likes that song and wants to sing it so they let him. But for me it wouldn't have to be every night. I think Bad Medicine is among Richie's fav's too.

Personally, I don't think they should bother much of what they think what has to be played. The OWN setlist were IMO more interesting. Jon already admitted they had no obligations on those sets because they weren't promoting an album. They should have that vibe more.

Default the tour

i think that there's got reasons for them to put LYHOM,ILSWID and BM together all the time in the set because it really fit the partical mood feeling while in the tour,so i understand why they do it all the time.(especially with rocking in the free world and shout).anyway,i think that they shouldn't play 'born to be my baby' anymore in the new tour or unless they could drop this song in some of the shows as it's been playing too much for the 'crush' and 'bounce' tour.i think this song should replaced by 'i'd die for you' in the 'slippery' record like how they did in some of the tours in 'crush'.

i think the "bouce" tour 2003 was a step into the right way. it was much better than the OWN tour 2001.
My "dream"setlist that will never come true would be:
*****************

Taking It Back
Hook Me Up
Always Run To You
You give live a bad name (TLFR Version)
Edge Of A Broken Heart
Good Guys Donīt Always Wear White
Dry County
Always (like in Wembley 95)
Keep The Faith (like in Wembley 95)
*******
Small Stage inside the crowd (acoustic)

Wanted Dead Or Alive
Fire Inside
Love For Sale
1.Song The Crowd can decide
********
Undivided
Radio Saved My Life Tonight
********
Encore
These Days
Iīll be There for You (Jon & Richie alone on Stage)
Blood Money becomes Blaze Of Glory
********
Encore 2
Satellite
The One That Got Away
Never Say Goodbye
*********
Encore 3 Crowd doesīt let Jon go (alone with his guitar)
Nobodyīs Hero
*********
Fireworks

there are no new songs on the list, because it donīt know any knew songs yet. But that setlist would work for me....
