I wouldn't be so sure about that actually. I don't know for sure, but the Stones actually sell shitloads everywhere while Bon Jovi doesn't end up in the charts that high everywhere.

Could be right, but I remember reading somewhere that no band comes close in global album sales to U2 and Bon Jovi. Apparently, Coldplay is now up there too (go figure.)
I could be wrong about this, but it seems as though alot of the Stones popularity isn't as much about the music as it is about alot of people just wanting to see them and being able to say, "I saw the Stones!".
I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, but I think it explains a bit why they have unheard of tickets sales, but lagging record sales (in the US anyways.) Sort of like Jimmy Buffett.
