Bon Jovi catering to the rich?

I was looking at BJ.com this morning and readin how they just announced the shows in Anaheim and Los Angeles. They go on sale this Saturday. No different from every other place, but does anyone else find it kind of lame that they give about 4 days notice of on sales?

I don't always have an extra $250 to drop without any notice. Would it kill them to give 2 weeks notice? Or, is it a question of them simply not caring?

I think based on how quickly the original set of shows sold out, they really don't care about giving prior notice.

Is this any different than usual? I don't think so. I specifically remember when they played in Jackson in 1989 the show was announced on Friday and the tix were on sale on Sunday.

Advance notice would be nice, but I don't think this is unusual. It would certainly help people who travel to buy the FC tickets, but that whole system is horrible anyway.

The difference between 1989 and today is, in 1989, tickets were $19.50 and Ticketbastard's service charge was only about $2.00. Much easier to scrape up $43 for 2 tickets, then $250.

The point is that announcements and on-sale dates have never been far apart. I can also remember that the 12-12-94 Christmas show wasn't even announced until the week before Thanksgiving that year, so tix went on sale and the show was over in less than a month's time. At the time, those were the most expensive tickets BJ had sold.

Nah, it has more to do with the promoter and there organization or lack thereof then catering to the rich.

The announcements and the beginning of the sales never were longer apart than just a couple of days, maximum one week.

We know that a tour will come for month so the 250 Dollars don't come suddenly. Someone could have been prepared. BJ are by far not the most expensive band but charge as much as other popular bands so someone could count on a specific price and could have been prepared.

On a sidenote, if they would announce the date and the sale would start month later I don't want to read all the unpatient posts of loads of people and the calls to ticket agencies and stuff "when go tickets on sale?". We have this at the moment with the concert in Switzerland which is announced for quite some time but still no ticket sale in sight.
