This is definitely true. I sure would think an official announcement would be made soon.

Dubai date for Madonna
Last Updated : Sunday 20 Apr, 2008 -
print this article email this article post your commentsMadonna is the latest superstar name to be linked with performing in the UAE.

Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement that rock legends Bon Jovi will play Abu Dhabi next month, the queen of pop is reportedly set to sign a big-bucks deal to play not one, but two, concerts here in Dubai in November.
According to the UK press, Madonna is set to earn a staggering $25 million for the two gigs. She is apparently in negotiations to perform here as part of her forthcoming world tour for $14 million and is also in talks to sing at a party for a mystery businessman for a further $10 million.
A source close to Madonna, who recently signed a $120 million deal with entertainment promoter Live Nation Incorporated - is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: “Madonna is about to break another record by playing the most lucrative concert of her whole career. “The figure is so big because of her new contract with Live Nation and the huge funds available from private promoters in Dubai. She is also close to agreeing to play a private party in Dubai, the first of her career.”
Madonna was recently named the highest-earning woman in music. The 49-year-old singer topped the first Cash Queens of Music list, compiled by Forbes.com, after raking in $70 million between June 2006 and June 2007. The reports of the latest big signing for the UAE, which have not been confirmed by Live Nation or commented on by Madonna’s spokesperson, are indicative of the growing popularity of the country as a stop off for major acts, industry insiders say.
Thomas Ovesen, Managing Director of AEG Middle East - who are bringing Bon Jovi to the UAE - said that while he wouldn’t comment directly on the “Madonna speculation”, these kinds of rumours show how the concert market has developed. “Over the last couple of years we’ve had Robbie Williams, Shakira, Santana and now Bon Jovi and these are acts that perform in the biggest cities around the world, so it shows that this is a viable venue now,” Ovesen told 7DAYS.
“We attract bigger artists than a similar sized place in Europe, for example, because corporate sponsors are keen to sign up for big names, which offsets the costs of travelling in and out of the UAE and the fact that audiences are smaller here.

“Gone are the days when Dubai was only mentioned if there was a really large one-off fee. Now it’s a starting or ending point on a world tour.” And if Madonna is set to strut her stuff in Dubai this autumn, it could have plenty to do with the celebrity grapevine. “While artists do of course perform for money,” Ovesen said, “I don’t know of any artist that’s come here and not really enjoyed it, so, who knows, maybe they talk to each other.”
Madonna’s latest single, ‘4 Minutes’, just happens to be a duet with Justin Timberlake, who performed a sell-out gig in Abu Dhabi in December.

There has been lots of places they have played didn't look like a place for a rock concert, they played the casino last tour in Florida , Mandalay bay resort, and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in 2003 ... Doesn't mean anything

these are casinos with huge arenas and auditoriums built to host concerts, shows, boxing evnts etc - this is a 6 star executive hotel for very wealthy business people there to do multi billion dollar deals not see a rock concert.
we will see but i dont think you can compare the hard rock casino in florida (i mean come on its in the name) the borgata or any hotel in vegas with this place.

I hope im wrong as i do think its about time Bon Jovi started playing to all the fans that have missed out since the 90s but im sorry dont think this will be it

it'll probably be like the PR show, in the sense that it wasn't even announced on the official site.

As it says in the article above that i posted earlier, justin timberlake has already performed there and Madonna is set to perform there too. the point is it can hold concerts and by the looks of it, it looks like any other high star hotel... I don't know how it's like inside, but it obvisouly has already held concerts there before...
