Bon Jovi concerts - embarassing?

You have the whole "family atmosphere" which quite frankly shouldn't be present at any concert outside of family loving America. Then there are the middle aged couples - the man, with his t-shirt tucked into his jeans and his stomach hanging over his belt, likes the music, the woman likes Jon. They listen to the ballads with their arms around each others waist. Then there are the middle aged groups of women, all of whom are there for Jon, who try to act 30 years younger than they are. It is painful to see. Then there are the families - the parents who have brought their children. Great, this adds to the high pitched screaming of all of the middle aged female Jon lovers. This truly sounds like the roar of a rock concert (note for yanks, this is sarcasm). Then you have Jon "you got a man-band up here tonight baby!" Bon Jovi. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

I don't think children or women in their 30s make 'rock concerts' embarrassing whatsoever and I am sorry you feel that way. That is quite sad actually.

Other than that, I share your sentiments. Particularly with the 30something women who dress in ripped jeans and try to go back in time. I feel really sorry for them, but couldn't say it bothers me.

On the other hand, the 17 something teeny boppers (no offense to anybody) who think BJ is the best thing since sliced bread and who are oh so excited to finally get out of the house to a 'real' concert are at least as annoying. Or the 20something guys who think they are all such hot shit and mega cool, wearing the BJ t-shirt and sporting their emo hairstyles do not exactly fit the image of the right audience of a 'rock concert' either.

oh and once you actually grow up - you'll find that there really isn't such a thing 'the right profile' for a rock concert. People at concerts are as varied as any bands fanbase.

I am 38, should I quit going to concerts? Does my beer belly (LOL) embarash you (though I wear my t-shirt out of my pants, just to make a little more room for my constantly growing belly, LOL) ? I enjoy music as much as you do, if not more, and no I don't feel embarashed because after all this is what rock and metal music is supposed to be. The freedom to do what you want without being embarashed because you don't "fit" with the current trend or something.

I guess some people will always make themselves look like fools, but this goes for everyone, 20 something, 30 something, 40 something and 50 something. Are you annoyed by the screaming? So you would prefer people to watch a rock concert actually seating in their seats, or would you prefer that everybody shut up so that you with the, oh so nice voice, would be the only one singing. I hope you understand the sarcasm here...

Oh, I could really go on forever here, but I won't. For one thing you can be sure. nobody is gonna tell me how I am supposed to enjoy a concert and make sure you won't be anywhere near me in the next Maiden, Bon Jovi, Priest or Whitesnake concert I am going to attend because I know all the damn lyrics and I intend to sing as loud as possible. "Insert high pitched scream here"

Yes, very true. I'm a 40 year old single woman and I love going to concerts and I can't see me stopping any time soon.
