they were both promo shows ..one for this left feels right the other for the box set (filmed and all) .. totally nothing to compare to what is coming UNLESS they announce a cd out around that period

I think the biggest appeal of this show, besides the fact that it'll be their only show of the year (at this point), it'll be a General Admission crowd at a US festival on the beach in front of a mostly different demographic of crowd. While I think all signs point to it being a very vanilla show, I think it could be a very different show. I think Jon might be willing to take some risks with the setlist as it's not a normal crowd. That's probably wishful thinking but I think it could be something exciting.

I would say take a look at the Hard Rock Calling set, but then again that was in the middle of a European tour, and in a city where they played 12 straight nights a year before. IDK, it COULD be interesting. Lets hope Jon's voice isn't a piece of shit.

Anyone else hoping/thinking that this won't be only show of 2012? I have to imagine they will play a couple other festival type shows over the summer. Summerfest anyone?

I imagine they will use it as a platform to try a couple of new songs for the impending album. Kind of when a comedian does little mini gigs to test out new material for comedy value. His voice/hair will probably be shite, Twinfan, you're probably right

Bon Jovi isn't that band anymore but I totally agree. Even way back when it wasn't that common for them to do something like this. Ugggh.
