Oh Jeez....this is very bad news for me because I've been toying with going to Calgary, mainly to check out the jobs, but if I can combine it with Jovi...that'd be sweet.

Afraid not. Calgary is WAY too far west for me to even consider. I am happy to see another part of Canada getting a show, I just wish it was *my* part.

Hello JT;

It has been a long time since I visited this board, but I am here again because of the interesting concert announcement I heard on the radio. I thought this album was the nail in the coffin for me, and now it's the reason the band is finally headed this way. It's been 12 years since their last visit to the western side of Canada (Vancouver included). I found interest in the band just after that tour, and I've never had the privilege of seeing them live, so this is very exciting news! - I thought the day would never come.

More Info:
The date I heard was July 11th, which makes a lot of sense, because during the first two weeks of July every year, Calgary hosts the world's largest country/western festival (based around a rodeo) called The Calgary Stampede. The festival is based downtown and includes the Saddledome in its grounds. http://calgarystampede.com

The Stampede receives a lot of media attention and I'm sure Bon Jovi will be included. There is a good chance for some Tv clips and possibly some kind of soundboard recording. I'm sure there will be an audience recording, as well

I'm not surprised one bit that the the fans are still announcing tour dates before the 'officials'. I checked bj.com and there is no news, whereas for me, it has quickly become a reality.

Might be time for me to schedule a business trip out west. Now I just have to convince management to pay for hotels during the Stampede - it ain't gonna be cheap.

Hey Cowboy, it's time to get out your map of Canada. Now find Winnipeg (it's in Manitoba ) which is few miles off the EXACT center of Canada. Now look waaaaaay over to the east and you will see Toronto. Please don't tell me you consider that central Canada.......lol.

CENTRAL Canada hasn't seen the love since the mid 90's.

Ok ok, you've got me there. I've had my head stuck in the ground I guess.

The biggest problem isn't the price, it's the availability. If you book hotels now, you'll get what you want, but if you wait until Stampede week you won't find a vacant room in any hotel/motel in the city.

I've been living in Calgary my entire life, and this has been the trend for as long as I can remember. You should see the amount of RV's and campers that roll into town at the beginning of July.

This should be a great summer.
