That sounds about right. There were people in line trying to get tickets on their cellphone while I was standing there. While I was at the counter, I was told there was only one available ticket left, and as I was about to take it, another set of two came loose, and I got them.

I have newspaper articles and photos of the Edmonton show from 1995 as well as from the 1993, and 1989 Calgary shows. I may have some other years as well, but I will have to dig them out and get them scanned.

Too bad nothing has surfaced from the early 80's shows. All I can offer is a story from a bartender who was working at the French Maid in Calgary, 1985, when the band came in for a few drinks. Ultimately, they went back to the tour bus with a few strippers.

As soon as I scan those articles, I'll post them either here, or in a new thread for everyone to see. There are quite a few, and there are some excellent photos I doubt anyone here has seen.

OH that would be excellent! I'd absolutely love that. I have some of the newspaper articles from the 1993 and 1995 shows too, in Edmonton.

the edmonton show in 95 was my first jovi show. ahhhh the memories! what a great year that was. I still have my newspaper stuff too. I also have the interviews (2 of them. one a phoner, and one at the arena) of Jon from power 92. as well as the concert announcements and promo commercials. i taped everything back then. LOL. which is nice because it really brings back memories and remember the anticipation..oh it was great. as much as i'm excited about calgary, there will never be another like the first time.

I have an interview on VHS somewhere, when Jon was on the ITV evening news , talking about donating to the food bank in Edmonton, backstage. I can't remember if it was '93 or '95...I think it was 1993.

I didn't know about the interviews you're mentioning. How cool! used to tape everything like that too. LOL. I think I remember taping a Power 92 commerical for the show. Ahhh the good old days.

I didn't think any recordings existed from AB. That's great to hear!
I decided to post these in this thread, as these are directed at Alberta fans, not the entire fanbase. These are just a few of the articles I have, the rest will be put away for another time.

Enjoy!

Wow. Check out those ticket prices in 93!

So lets see in 14 years prices have more than quadrupled.

Kind of sad really.

That pic is awesome too...My friend took a photo of me with it on her camera phone, but she doesn't know how to get it off her phone. :P What's the point? LOL

BTW thanks for those scans. I have the one that says "Bon Jovial" in my "scrapbook".

Truly scary. I remember those prices, fairly reasonable. And I had gold circle tickets too. Row 11 for the show in 1993. Wild T and the Spirit? I remember being 14 and thinking they were incredibly boring. LOL
