I'm just curious, it looksl ike most of the venue is the "bank lottery" what is that?
Is the promoter part of a banking group or something?

How does a concert on a beach work, is that a normal venue?
Sounds kinda cool, walking around in bare feet watching hot chicks in bikinis dance while listening to some tunes. Seems like a very different vibe from a normal concert at least in my head.

The promoter (Bob Reiche) tried to organize a Beach Concert last year but cancelled his plans due to having not enough time for it. At that time Robbie Williams was supposed to be headlining the show. After his plans didn't work out he anounced them again last year while mentioning many big names (Prince, Mariah Carey, Aerosmith, pretty much anyone he could come up with) yet it was obvious none of them were touring or would be willing to do such a thing.

The beach here is not a normal venue, it'll be the first major beach concert ever. Bob Reiche managed to get the Bank Lottery to sponsor the gig, which has resulted into them giving away tickets to new members of the Bank Lottery and giving members of the Bank Lottery the opportunity to buy tickets with a 50% discount.

The other tickets will go on sale this saturday, however, those are either the very expensive ones in the front or the cheaper ones all the way in the back. That said, in Holland not that many people are willing to spend 55E for a gig on the Beach that they're most likely will only be able to watch on the video screens.

The experience you're describing is not the way it's going to be. With prices being this high and with most of the crowd consisting of Bank Lottery members (meaning = 30 years or older etcetera) you won't see that many hot chicks dancing in bikini' but will end up with a crowd that consists of 80% of people that "just thought it'd be nice for a day out" instead of having the proper idea of what a rock show is supposed to be about. It'll be an audience that'll chat itself through the show, I've seen the same happen with a Rolling Stones show, the fans ended in the back and the average joe who just knew Satisfaction and Angie ended up in the front.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Well...balls!!
I was thinking how cool it would be to kick back and drink a daquerri or four and watch topless young nymphs play volleyball while "99 in the shade" was blasting. More of a beach party than a traditional concert. Tiki torches on stage, grass skirts, Jon comes surfing in from the ocean and then the crowd passes his board over thier heads up to the stage.
A more relaxed atmosphere might be cool, not having to fight for position in the crowd, though I know European GA shows are not like that.

But if you wanted to get in for free all you need is scuba gear

You got a bit of a wrong image of European GA shows. It's not everywhere in the field that people fight for their spot, it's only the retards from Backstage in the front that fight for every inch you get into their private zone.

Yeah I got some pretty vivid combat stories from a girl that we bought a big collection from years ago, she had gone to a 2 week run of shows in Europe on the These Days tour and said it was very different.
Over here we almost never have GA shows. I saw them GA at the House of Blues in Chicago and that was a madhouse even though it is a pretty small venue. People were packed in so close and tight that I couldn't look down to see if my DAT deck was recording (it wasn't, dammit).
The other GA Jovi show I saw was seated, they just let everybody in slowly and everybody took whatever show was closest and they made everybody sit down before the show started.
I am too old for GA, but the idea of a show on a beach just sounds cool to me.
Plus I have never been to Holland, so that would be cool too.

It doesn't work like that at all over here. The GA area is very controlled, they count the people they let in and when the field is huge and they have the feeling that people might get smashed they place barriers everywhere. As soon as people get out of control they'll get involved with the crowd and take people out of it.

You're not too old for GA, now don't be silly. In Europe 60 year olds buy GA tickets. Now how old are you again?

Pfff, this summer while on beach I developed an interesting idea... Beach concert, the stage is acutally built on water so the public needs to get in the water... All we need is a nice beach where you can go in the water 100 meters from shore and stand in it. I know some perfect places in Cro

A concert on the water sounds cool, but....
insurance against drowning? Drunks peeing right next to you? Security on Jet Skis? What if Tico can't swim ?
