Many fans in the region have decided to stay home and so far it won't be one of the best concerts ever due to it ending at 9 in the evening and starting at 7. It'll be a regular 2 hour show.

For the record, a ticket in the pit costs 1.020 Argentinian Pesos or $300,-. The last time the band played here a ticket in the pit cost 450 Argentinian Pesos or $120,-. And the organiser thinks he can expect 100.000 people. It's not going to happen.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I can hear Jon singing 'It's alright, It's alright, Who sais you can't go hoooooome' on the beach with 50 fans in front of them.

I salute you,
TS

Thatīs right, I know what you mean.
The ticket prices are very high this time, even in the US, where a pit costs u$s 353 !

But, wherever, my thought was: "WTF, Iīll see my favourtie band live...and in a beach, thats really great"

It must be a fantastic experience.

The Rolling Stones did somethin similar in Copacaba Beach, Brazil, in 2006. And the fans were crazy, it was something different that a standard tour concert.

But sure, if they set cheapper prices, there will be a sold out festival, no doubt of it.

I know, and the Stones gig was for free. Don't compare that beach to this one though, there have been riots here some time ago that included the death of 1 person so security will be very tight now.

The gig sounds cool in theory though especially for a beach lover

Aloha !

Today the Dutch concertpromoter posted on the Dutch Bon Jovi board. He said he heard that Bon Jovi fans think the tickets are too expensive, and wondered if we realized that because it's happening on a beach it's a lot more expensive to organise than a gig at a stadium. He said he listened to our critisism and promised us a discount at the front row tickets, which he will anounce tomorrow.

The thing is though, tickets in the front are €190,- compared to €64,- in 2008. He'd have to give us a discount over 100% in order to make it sound attractive. If the tickets will be €60,- cheaper there's still no one who's willing to pay the price. We're not willing to stand in the back and we're not willing to pay extraordinary amounts of money in order to be in the front.

Further on it's not just Bon Jovi fans that won't go, there's not an internet site in Holland on which you can read the excitement from people. Close to no one is willing to pay the prices. People who thought about going because it'd be a nice day out aren't even considering going now that they've read about the ticket prices.

It's in Dutch, but "Prijs in 2008" obviously means "Price in 2008". I also don't understand why he thinks it's more expensive to "rent" a beach than a stadium. There's so many flaws in this plan that right now no one really trusts the whole idea anymore and the people who thought about buying the €190,- tickets now wonder if the promoter can be trusted at all.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I'm very confused by the pricing structure - Why are the tickets in the middle only 33Euro, but 55Euro directly behind them?

Surely if it was GA with all tickets 60E or so, it would be infinitely more appealing....
