I thought the pit was strong in prague for example but the rest of the stadium was like under some sort of coma... Jon begs for reaction all the time and he WORKS HARD for it but it is just not working (just like the cell phone 'thing' yeah you may get a good photo of it but it is after 10 minutes after he asked for it ... its NOT instant reward at all ) I DO FEEL SAD for Jon and his musicians, they keep smiling but you can feel it's not a happy tour
What a load of crap, at Sunderland and Manchester the crowd was awesome.

I can't comment personally - but 2 friends were at the Sunderland gig and said that the crowd was one of the dullest they have ever experienced. I don't mean to disagree with you, I'm just a bit surprised at how violent your language is, when it's something as subjective as that and highly dependent on where you are in the crowd.

Anyway - I don't actually care, am just procrastinating at work, god damn it!!!

Just saw it on the tv. People were disapointed, even the casual fans. A tour to forget. I hope they call it a day if richie leaves permanently.

I think every review of a Jovi show post 2008 that I have written, I mentioned that this is what the band is turning into. It's not disrespectful towards Tico and David because it's not their fault, if anyone's, it's Jon's.

Again, to me, this is just an observation of the state of affairs. At lest when Richie was there, there was SOME interaction between Jon and him. With Phil X there seems to be a lot less. So yes - a Bon Jovi show in 2013 seems just like Jon and his musicians. Even the E-Street band gets more prominence on stage, so why the outrage, I really don't understand.
Maybe I'll understand this point of view if you tell me what Jon is supposed to do as far as interaction with David and Tico so they are not seen as just musicians on stage but a part of a band. I've seen the band since the 7800 days and I don't ever recall very much interaction with David and Tico...or is my memory bad..ha ha!!

Agreed.....
Besides which, how exactly do you interact with a guy sat behind a drum kit or one surrounded by keyboards??!
I've never known it any other way with Bon Jovi.....
Seems to me that Tico & Dave are pretty happy with the whole set-up, especially as it's paying for their lifestyle!

David and Tico were a lot closer to the front of the stage in earlier times. On the KTF tour, Tico's drum kit was mobile, and used to move around the stage, come all the way to the front Not that I'd want that, just saying though.

Now there is a magical wall between Jon and the rest of the band when before LH they were almost like one unit. That's my point. Jon, Richie and Hugh/ Alec were 'positioned' in one straight line until the LH tour. Than Jon started moving further up-front and Richie and Hugh further back. Then Hugh was placed in the back of the stage where no one can see him.

Come on, this whole 'trend' of 'Jonnyfication' of the band was obvious long before Richie left and lots of people pointed that out on previous tours. You can't tell me that you have seen the band since 1985 and haven't noticed until now, I don't buy it.

people keep on bringing up this whole 'happiness' bullshit. As if that meant anything. As if it's true. As if it's the point of the discussions. It's not. The point is 'Jon and his musicians' is not that far off from the truth. Whether they are happy with it or not, doesn't matter.

These things have been lost, the gangway is not used. Richie is gone. I hope Richie come back soon and everything will return to be as before.

I have seen them every tour, but being 100% honest, did not pay attention to who is closer or a straight line which this member to that, etc. I honestly couldn't give a flying fu*k about the position of the band members and it has no bearing on my critique of a show. But, if that is one of your important elements for a band to be seen as a band then more power to you.

I think the problem is, that because JoviMimi has already dismissed every show before it has begun, she is assuming that every other fan thinks the same. Nothing wrong with the crowds in Manchester and Slane for me. I dont think it would matter if they were to play for 4 hours and have the wildest crowd ever. Dave and Tico could sing a song each, with maybe Jon singing Let it Rock on a unicycle, or come up from the stage 80's style, Richie lovers would still say the show was dull.
