Yes it does count for every tour old or new, which is why bootlegs are a poor indication of how good or bad someone really sounds, IMO.
That's just it Seb, he doesn't struggle every show. He didn't struggle at all at Brew-Ha. His voice was great all show. On the Bounce shows I saw, on four of them his voice was very good, strong and solid. the other two shows, he struggled a bit when he put prayer late in the show and at the one show he was just overall having an off night.
See I don't agree with that because since KTF they have set a certain standard and they never or rarely fall below it. The shows are not as raw or as unpredictible as the 80's shows but you don't have the extreme highs or lows (and there were lows) that marked alot of their shows in the eighties either.
I agree that Jon has dialed back his voice during touring since Crush started. Live shows have become a well oiled performance and I do miss the spontaniety sp? of earlier tours, although I'm going to give them the benifit of the doubt that with this new record and a bunch of new songs they really seem to be into, and the fact that they are adding extra players to give the pricipals more freedom of expression on stage that this new tour is going to be a fun and excellent one to watch.
P.S. they do not use any recorded vocals at live concerts despite what some here may say.
I don't know how much I believe this. You're saying the backing vocals to "It's My Life" are live? To me, it always looks like Jon, Richie and Hugh are singing the bulk of the vocal part, and Dave is doing the backup. It always sounds like a tape or some mystery voice to me.
