I got this email yesterday from the Coventry Observer (UK)

"Bon Jovi to rock Arena?

AMERICAN rockers Bon Jovi are among the big names being lined up for Coventry Arena's grand opening.

The Observer can reveal Arena chiefs are 'living on a prayer' in the hope the legendary five piece band will play in the city.

Bon Jovi are one of a number of the world's biggest acts being targeted for a music extravaganza in August.

The new 32,000 capacity stadium, currently under construction off the A444 Phoenix Way, Rowleys Green, is due to open in eight months time.

The Arena, which will be the home of Coventry City from next season, was last month dealt a major blow when luxury car manufacturer Jaguar pulled out of a multi-million pound sponsorship deal.

And the Sky Blues' current home Highfield Road has upstaged the new development by booking Elton John to appear in a June farewell concert.

Arena Coventry chief executive Paul Fletcher is determined to give the stadium a boost by attracting a top draw act for a showpiece concert to launch the venue.

Bon Jovi, whose hits include Livin' On A Prayer, Wanted Dead Or Alive and You Give Love A Bad Name, are rumoured to be lining up a UK stadium tour and are sounding out possible venues.

Mr Fletcher confirmed the Arena’s events committee was meeting to discuss future acts at the multi-purpose venue.

“We would be very interested in any acts which would be a stadium filler, and of course that is certainly what Bon Jovi would be,” he said.

At previous developments, Mr Fletcher was instrumental in signing up REM to play Huddersfield's McAlpine Stadium and Oasis to perform at Bolton's Reebok Stadium to coincide with the completion of the venues.

Once finished, the Arena complex will include an 8,000 capacity exhibition hall, conference centre, banqueting suite and casino."

So....it seems that the tour has been postponed, but only til August

This seems to be a decent and believable post. Hell august would be even better.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

so they haven;t even said they're definetely playing it never mind cancelling?

hmmm

anyways i seriously doubt they'll get bon jovi at that time of year and as soon after it's opening. bands and promoters don't want teething problems to worry about.

FYI folks Jon was on a radio show in the US recently and they are still working on the record, he'd been in the studio the night before. I think the tour stuff is being worked out around the football season for Jon's team. The playoffs and the arena bowl are in late may and june so i wouldn't expect much overseas until july anyway.

Not a legitimate source of information; no one involved in the piece has any legitimate connection to be speaking on behalf of the artist. In the eager hunt for any information, beware who and what you seek to believe. Whether you like it or not, official information is posted on the artist's official website. In due time.
