Default Bon Jovi vs Bruce for Pre Opening...

For Kathleen I know she loves this...

Not sure if this was postedhere before, but i heard from a HUGE bruce fan that he was originally asked to open the Rock but refused when he saw what they wanted to charge for tix and then jovi stepped in and said hed do it...

could explain the ridiculous prices that hopefully will not be a new jovi trend...

Also, im a little plugged into the developer community here in jersey and the running joke is jbj will be performing in a hardhat meaning there is like no chance the venue opens on time....

anyone got any info?

marc

Maybe that's why Richie's in rehab, he got so depressed that they couldn't open the Pru in time that he started drinking again. (sorry I couldn't resist).

I heard the NJ Devils head guys are pushing for this thing to open come hell or highwater. It will be a complete disaster if they don't open in time as there is no moving or rescheduling these shows or the hockey games.

i actually heard on mike and the mad dog that continental would help out with the devils games...i wonder what they would do with the concerts...reschedule or move them...they prob couldnt move them as there must be something going on during the shows at CA..or maybe not...who knows...wonder when nba preseason starts...

could get messy....

I think the Pru will be open for the concerts BUT not completely ready for the Devils games. They have had construction problems that have slowed them down - and yes I heard that Continental will help out with the Devils.

On the other topic of Bruce vs Jovi. Marc, do you know that Bruce was asked first as a fact? Or is this just another Bruce vs Jovi pissing match reported by a Bruce fan? They love to get their facts wrong when it comes to Bon Jovi. Told this way they can say what a money hungry bastard Jon is - and he doesn't care about his fans - yadda yadda.......

It certainly is an interesting take on the matter BUT I wonder if it's the complete story.

Personally I think the Bruce fans have a stick up their ass about Bon Jovi. As I've mentioned here before - the Bon Jovi fans are happy to enjoy Bruce for what he does. Why can't the Bruce fans enjoy Bon Jovi for what they do? Methinks they protest too much (must be jealousy LOL).

In any case I am planning on enjoying 5 Bruce concerts and 5 Bon Jovi concerts in the next month and a half - and **** all the naysayers

Once again, I don't think those prices are overpriced. I watched the venue from the website and that are a lot of (vip) boxes, special seats etc (ALOT more then I'm used), I assume the higher prices are for those boxes.

Watching a soccermatch in a skybox is more expensiver.

(I do think the normal tickets are normally overpriced - but they have to overprice something as audio as its competeter)

The only Bruce I know is Sir Bruce Dickinson.
