Yeah, but the problem with Twickenham was that there weer 2 dates. They should've stuck to 1 show.

Why not? There were 60/70,000 at Hyde Park this year mainly there for Jovi

Both Wembley and Twickenham can hold more than 60/70,000, and this would require crowds completely there for Jovi

I guess then, the way to do this would be to offer a one-off at Wembley and not part of a tour. No other shows in Europe at that time etc.

Still, I don't think they're going to do Wembley.

I know it's not recent but there were an unofficial 120 000 there for Jovi in 2003 at Hyde Park so I think they could fill Wembley without a doubt... but the thing that has been driving casuals away is the pricing. If they want to sell anywhere out now, they seriously need to reconsider the financial aspect of the shows IMO.

They could easily fill Wembley given the right circumstances sure.

Twickenham wasnt sold out because there had been plenty of Jovi gigs in the UK in the preceeding years- it certainly wasnt long after the HAND tour, and The O2 opening of 2007. Anyone who wanted to see them in London certainly had their chance. Theyve played her in 2006,7,8,10&11. If they had a couple of years off, came back with a new album with great promotion (not the lame promo efforts of The Circle and LH), and didnt charge stupid prices then they would have no problem in filling Wembley, probably multiple nights too. They couldnt this time round I would suspect as the people who would see them once, had already done so fairly recently.

The issue with Wembley Stadium is complicated. Wembley was not in use when they played in Hyde Park this year, at least not for Take That, the nights of the later started on the 30th June and BJ played Hyde Park on the 25th. So it wasn't a problem with clashing.

What I heard from someone in the business is that BJ's promoter is AEG, which as someone pointed out earlier has got an arrangement with O2. After of the fiasco of the opening Wembley and having to move the shows and put extra work to MK, everyone was quite piss off. Considering by the time BJ was suppose to open the venue, there was already a couple of years at least of delay in the construction.

As far as I know, the promoter try to recover the loses from the insurers and Wembley, and I won't be surprised they still are on that.

I think Bj can fill Wembley at least once, with a new good album, right promotion, less tour dates around UK/EU. Counting that Jon likes to be involved in big dates such as the 40th Anniversary of the Hard Rock Cafe, and so on, who knows, but I think the business fiasco is still a bit raw

Yep, it's their venue for all intents and purposes. They built it, they run it.

The government put the tent up. The actual arena was AEGs doing.
