It will be used for album promotion, same as last time, which to be fair was a great show but not a long show.

Generally I would expect a 1.5-2.0hr set if this goes ahead. A few new songs and the hits. Personally I will wait for Dublin or Manchester as they seem to get the best shows IMO.

i think it's unlikely the band will do another gig in manchester now. The new owners of city have said they don't want any gigs at the stadium now and last time the band complained about the sound at old trafford as did bruce springsteen!

There isnt really another venue around here big enough unless they did a run at the m.e.n arena which is highly unlikely

Old Trafford cricket ground has hosted a number of successful concerts in the last few years and with a 50,000 capacity its perfect - to be honest I wasn't to impressed with eastlands anyway its like a concrete jungle - The cricket ground is well known for having one of the best atmospheres at uk cricket grounds

If they aren't going to play at the City stadium or Old Trafford again, then they quite possibly would go to the cricket ground instead, if it has such a high capacity. Hasn't Bruce played there? If they didn't go there, where would they go? They've done shows in Manchester for years, it's the only show in this region really, so they'd have to go somewhere I think.

Bruce hasnt played the cricket ground, he did old trafford.

The arctic monkeys, richard ashcroft, radiohead, r.e.m and take that have all done concerts there. It's just a bit of a shoddy venue (or so i've found anyway from my experiences there)

i mean they may well play old trafford again, its just they did complain about the sound last time!

who knows what will happen?

Really? I could have sworn I'd read mention even on here, and a Google search gives results as if he played there in 2003 and 2008 at least.

I know that people complained about the sound at the City stadium last year, but I hadn't heard a bad word against Old Trafford for it. Plenty of people play big shows there, I can't imagine them all returning if the acoustics weren't up to it.

Bruce played old trafford football ground, i went
The Cricket ground is called the lancashire cricket club not old trafford cricket ground, its probably just a down to the confusion with the name.

My dads mate is the head steward at old trafford and when i asked him what he thought of bruce he said it was a grat show etc but Bruce himself complained about the quality of the sound as did bon jovi a few years ago.

The football ground hasn't actually had that many concerts, off the top of my head i know of simply red, bon jovi, bruce springsteen, rod stewart and genesis.
