The reason why not many liked it is because Bon Jovi just can't seem to release a proper DVD of a show. Every one of their live releases has been incomplete. And it also need to be mixed to death, chopped into pieces, the song order needs to be changed and as a result their official live releases never look and sound like a live DVD. The audio of the Crush tour is weird as all audience noise is mixed to the back yet Jon's all the way to the front with a total lack of reverb. It all sounds completely flat.
Although not all shows at Madison Square Garden were particularly great it's not hard to understand why people don't like the video for Dry County when, during the guitar solo, you get shots of a woman holding her baby (or whatever it was). Remix that stuff and put it in an order that actually flows, let the show breathe and you get a whole different animal. It's not that hard, and somehow for Bon Jovi it is.
All fans have wanted are good live releases. This band has done 10 world tours in the last 20 years and there's not a single live album out there representing the band for what they are. The bootlegs recorded by people of this board sound better than their official releases. Yet whenever Obie's confronted with critisism he waves it away and says people are too picky over omitted covers, faded intro's/outro's and chopped up guitar solo's. He's seen close to every Bon Jovi show in the last 20 years and still hasn't got a clue of what a show sounds like to a fan.
