Default Borgata ?

Have you been to any of the Borgata shows ?

I have been to neither any of the Borgata shows not in 2003 neither in 2004 ...( and unfortunately I won't go to Vegas ... I would have love to try to do that but honestly air fare plus hotel plus stay plus the show price .. it's for me too much )

I would like to know if the jovitalkers are casino shows goers ...? or would have be willing to go ?

you can post a reply or just vote in the poll . I am not loving poll for the fun of it but I think it shows rather clearly what sometimes ppl might not say in a post ....(some ppl don't post but vote in polls but the opposite is true too .. do'nt vote in poll but post .. both are very welcome)

I went to the shows in 2003. I kind of wanted to go in 2004, but they didn't announce them in time for me to book airfare at a decent rate--and I had gone to several other concerts and booked other flights in October and November last year, so it was just bad timing. I'm rather glad I didn't go since it was such a short show. I would have been pissed if I put that much money into getting there and left thinking, "That was it?"

I don't like casinos/gambling in general. I really think it takes a moron to feed their money to a machine. But I don't have any kind of moral or ethical aversion to going to a show at a casino. They typically have concert venues that are specially built with great sound in mind and they wind up sounding better than your average hockey arena or football stadium.

I went to both Borgata shows 2003 and 2004. I enjoyed the Borgata as a hotel but I'm with Becky about casinos. I'm just not a gambler - not that kind of a gambler anyway. I also don't smoke so I really dislike the air pollution at a casino. The shows sounded great and I really enjoyed this past years show - I liked the box set music far better than TLFR.

I also live pretty close to Atlantic City so getting there is not a problem for me - I don't need to fly but I do need to spend the night. I COULD drive home after the concert, but I really don't want to lol.

I won't be going to Las Vegas - I don't like Las Vegas at all and it is at a time that getting away is impossible for me.

Haven't been to either and won't go to LV.

I am not one to travel for concerts at all --- I am quite busy right here and can see more bands than I have time/money for without the hassle of having to book a flight and hotel.

LV would have been alright - if the stars had lined up right. But it wouldn't have been soley for BJ but rather a weekend get-away for me. I don't like gambling, but I could see me having a splendid time in LV nonetheless --- if only to rent a car and start driving and taking oodles of pictures. Last time I was in Vegas was about 12 years ago, so another trip would have been kind of cool.

One of my new-years resolution was to take out more time for myself, so this would have been kind of handy, but alas.......

oh, as far as concerts in casinos --- can't really say as I've never been to one. I am somewhat of a concert snob and I truly like small small venues -- hate arenas and won't do stadiums anymore. So, I think a casino would be cool

Aloha !

None. TLFR Borgata didn't interest me, I watched the webcast online and had more fun discussing it on MSN than watching the actual performance, and the ticket prices for the boxset show were so high that I never actually considered going.

Thierry tried to get me to the casino a few times, but as it most likely will be a standard Bon Jovi show it won't be worth all the money; plane ticket, hotel tickets etc.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I didn't do any of the Borgata shows but honestly if I had the funds i would have love to go .. mainly because I need badly some jovi fix and also because it's very tough to play the *left out role* among the fans ... I would have love to be part of the party me too ...
NOW after watching both shows during the webcast and also on dvd (from Tv or official DVD - thanks cath for the HDTV show) I think it's quite impossible to have a great jovi show in a casino venue it just doesn't fit ....for me it's like eating caviar into a hot dog .. both are yummy stuff (I prefer Hot dog though like I prefer Jovi no matter if it's considered as cheap and not very well rated it is what I love !! PERIOD) but together it doesn't do it at all for me

on a side note
I went for the first time of my life in a casino for or because of jovi in february 2003 in Atlantic City we stayed at the Bally .. I thought OMG this is soooo just NOT ME to be there ....but it has nothing to do with jovi .. I was amazed to see those older ppl spend the money they spared during their working life into casinos when they get older just hoping to win the lottery...

Went to one of the Borgata shows and I am going to Vegas if i can arrange everything. I agree with Becky that these venues ar great for shows because they are set up as concert venues. Great acoustics, much better than you average fooball stadium or arena. This show in Vegas is an outside show thogh so I imagine it will be much like the amphitheater shows on the bounce tour sound wise.
i'm not much of a Vegas person, I like the people watching more than gambling although i can usually be persuaded to drop a few dollars at the black jack tables. i live in Montana so as far as seeing the band goes this is one of the closer places (and cheaper) places for me to travel. It's also one of the easier ones to get to from here in the wilds.

Last option. To Borgata 2003 (TLFR) I wouldn't have gone for free and esp. not for up to 350 Dollars and Borgata 2004 was still a ripp off with the ticket prices they took. I wouldn't have gone even if I lived right next door to the Borgata venue. Not for that much money. I've seen it on DVD and am perfectly fine with it. Not sad that I wasn't there.

I went to both Borgata shows in 2003.
If I didn't had won the trip for the show on Saturday on the radiostation here I would not have been there.
Since I arrived Friday I bought expensive tickets thru ebay for Friday night.
