Great!

Here's my story:

I'd never seen Bon Jovi live before I made my way to the Manchester gig, but I was lucky even to get to it. It turned out that I was going on holiday from the 14th to the 28th of June, which just happened to miss the last gig (Hyde Park) by one day. The two weeks before I was bound to depart the holiday got moved forward to 11th - 25th of June. I got online straight away but found that the Manchester and Hyde Park were both sold out. I remember thinking, damn I coulda booked those Bon Jovi tickets if I had known.

Anyway off I went on holiday thinking that I'd missed Bon Jovi yet again, but to my great surprise 3 days before the end of my holiday an old friend that I hadn't seen for ages rang me and said he'd managed to get Bon Jovi tickets for Old Traford cheap from a relative who bought them and couldn't make it. This was the day after my holiday and I went to his house, where I met him and his mates, and set off to Old Trafford at around 3PM. We got some beers on the way and parked up illegally somewhere in Trafford Park. We made our way to the stadium drinking our beers, jumped the queue and ran to the front as soon as the gates opened. When I say the front though it was only the front of the non-reserved standing area, but still got a good view of the stage.

Live kicked the show off and sounded quite good. We were laughing at the guitarist with the mohican styled hair cut. The Bon Jovi hit the stage around 8PM and opened with Bounce. The stadium errupted, and it was a great show from start to finish. Bon Jovi rocked and the atmosphere was twice that of any football match I'd ever been too, and it sounded great. The set was quite good, about 5 hits from Bounce and the rest the most well known hits, apart from a couple of covers like Rockin' All Over The World and Lola. Lola was the only track that they played that I've never heard before (I remember Jon saying "We're gonna try something we've never done before...."). I was pleased though because it found me a new band to listen to (The Kinks). The only problem was that I was soo dehydrated from drinking beer, and having no water and I had no voice left from screaming at the top of my voice.

At the end of the show we went home, drank a few more beers while refleting on the show and I slept over at my mates house, before driving home the next day.

That was one of the best nights of my life. I got to see Bon Jovi which I had never done before, it was a bargain (£25 for my ticket), and they rocked!!!
