Ashton Gate was a rubbish venue.Didn't Robbie Williams described it as a cow shed? Also last time they were on stage for less than 2 hours because of a curfew as its bang in the middle of a residential area. Can't understand why they picked this again. But Jon did mention in the WWWB book that there was one show that was less than two hours in Europe on the Circle tour, and they weren't happy about it. Perhaps he's going back because of that? My friend who is coming to Hyde Park with me tells me she can't afford to go twice in one year, so think I might give it a miss even though it is quite close for me. Sigh.

What he actually said was " You commit to X amounts of dates and you go out on tour and you do it well. I would never go out there and do an hour-and-a half show. You can't. If I don't do two, two and a half, I feel unfulfilled. I get mad. We had one night on this last European tour where we did an hour fifty-five. The fan base knew it. I knew it.The band knew it."

Not sure how they'll get round that curfew this time.

Talking to yourself is the first sign of madness...

Lie To Me was great at Bristol, but the short gig last time was very underwhelming. I can't see why Jon has any excuses- he would have known ahead of time what the curfew was, plus there was only local support so nothing would have stopped them starting half hour earlier. Instead, they rushed through Sleep with no medley and did a Wanted/Prayer encore and legged it.

Plus the stadium is appalling and traffic in the surrounding area for the gig was at a standstill for hours. And Ive not forgiven the old bill for directing me wrong and me ending up lost for hours. Damn you Bristol

You're right about it being underwhelming and they could have started earlier, but then there would have been no light show at all to speak of. I remember it only starting to get dark as they were doing the encore. So maybe they intend to go back and make it up to Bristol with a really special night????? On the basis of that wild hope I might just go after all!

Agreed, despite the fact that Jon repeatedly looking at the floor for the lyrics, it was still great.

Booked 3 Golden Circle tickets for the show this morning, heavy hit on the
card, but very exciting.
