Default Calgary/Edmonton shows

Heya. I'm new on this board but have been a Bon Jovi fan for 20 odd years. Anyhow when I heard Bon Jovi was coming to Calgary I quickly got tickets since I am from Edmonton and they haven't been here since 1995. My 5 year old son is also a big fan so this was big news indeed. Well a few weeks later they announce the Edmonton show as well so I end up going to my 4th and 5th Bon Jovi concerts. Anyhow enough of that...

Anyhow I must say both shows were absolutely awesome but they had some big differences. The fans in Calgary were much better and the band seemed to feed off that more. Here are some of the highlights/differences
-In Calgary they extended Born To Be My Baby and Jon played off the crowd a lot more with the na na na na's.
-In Edmonton they did "Dancin' In The Streets" during "Sleep When I'm Dead"
-In Edmonton they put "The Last Night" where "Runaway" has been and did "Runaway" in the first encore instead.
-In Calgary they extended the breakdown section of "Bad Medicine" right after Richie's solo

Some minor differences but nonetheless interesting. Just seemed like the crowd in Calary was more into it, singing along, being rowdy etc and Jon and crew really played off that energy.

Now for the biggest surprise much to my approval is that in Edmonton instead of "Saturday Night" they play "The Radio Saved My Life Tonight"!!! That's one of my all time favorites so that was a pleasant surprise although I do like "Saturday" a lot as well.

My son went with me to the Calgary show and it was great to see the concert through his eyes, although they didn't sing his favorite songs "Bounce" and "Have A Nice Day". He absolutely loved it though.

Myself being a musician I really appreciate the band's level of professionalism. They perform top notch consistently and Jon knows how to control his voice very well unlike a lot of other singers out there.

So overall 2 great shows and Jon mentioned that they will be back for the next tour. Let's hope they follow through.

Thanks for your review. I didn't make the Edmonton show, much to my regret, but Calgary was still great. I was really hoping they would have played Radio but you can't win 'em all.

Your details on the differences are wonderful. BUT I honestly think the Edmonton crowd was way louder.

And Jon did not introduce the band properly in Edmonton either. He only briefly introduced the 'supporting players', and Richie. It was kinda weird.
