Based on the pictures you posted of your camera, I think you'll be fine. It's not so much the SIZE of the camera that matters, but the type of lenses, zoom, etc. I think that if they saw your camera, they would realize that it's older and cameras from a few years ago were not as tiny as some of the ones you can buy today.

If you're still worried, you can try this trick I always use: put your camera in a sock (or if it won't fit in a sock then wrap it in something fabric) that is similar in color to the inside of your purse. Then put it in the bottom and cover it with a bunch of other things. Chances are security won't notice it. They have tens of thousands of bags to check, so they can't spend a lot of time looking at each one.

But even IF (and that's a big if) they were to find it and decide it was unacceptable, they wouldn't take your camera away. Usually the worst that would happen is that they take your CD or your batteries so you can't take pictures. Judging by my past experience at Giants Stadium though, even that is unlikely.
