Maybe roads, traffic, etc. are different over here (U.S.), but I drove 840 miles back to Atlanta (by myself) the day after my Newark show. On just 3 hours of sleep, I made it home in 13 hours. I stopped for a 30 minute nap at one point, but otherwise, I just kept the Bon Jovi really LOUD and kept on driving! The things we do for this band . . .

thats pretty hard goin!
Im thinkin i'd better give this one a miss, the whole idea of it was as a cheap extra, having already seen this show, but doesnt look like it'll be that cheap anyway.
I just know i'll come on, look at the setlist for that night, being the last night and all, and really regret it.
Ah well

Are you working Sunday? Get some kip in the car and set off Sunday afternoon if you've no commitments that day. It'll be well worth it, I assure you.

in theory yes you can.. you will die though..
the road to its biggest part is good, shouldn't take more than 5 hours to reach london. last year we made edinburgh london in about 4.30 hours... if you don't speed you will reach london in 5-6 hours unless there's a road maintenance and/or traffic. it will be very tiring to drive 10-12 hours and see the show. make sure you have company, preferably another driver.

Edinburgh to London in 4.5 hours?!? Without speeding?!!? I'm sorry, but i call bullshit on that one, considering we sat just OVER the limit(about 73) most of the way to Sheffield from Glasgow and it took us 4 hours. By that reckoning you can drive from Sheffield to London in half an hour. No offence or anything, but I don't see it happening.

I don't know how quick it'd be for Edinburgh to London on motorways all the way but for Edinburgh to Skegness on the East Coast of England, it's 300 miles and takes us 6 hrs by car on a good run. London being a further 160 miles, I don't believe anybody can make it in 4hrs 30 - no chance!

Glasgow to London and back in a day - that's massive mate. I can't say I'd advise it looking at it objectively. It would be possible but you'd be a very real danger to yourself and others on the road. I wouldn't risk it.

if you could catch a few hours sleep in the car before your return then i'd do it. Then again we do drive all over the country quite regularly and do perth to Paris in a day and half, my hubby has done canterbury to perth in 6 and half hours (i hope no traffic officers are reading this!!!!!) the roads until you gt near London are pretty easy drivng. perhaps you could set off early hours of the morning when there is no traffic, sleep for a couple hours when you get there before the gig

put it this way if i had the choice of going down to london this weekend i'd be there in a shot (and it an extra 80 miles for us to get to glasgow before the trip down south)

However(as is my experience) it will take much MUCH longer to do it. Think it took us 14 hours to get from Glasgow-ish to Milton Keynes, so 25 hours max, with a 2-2.5 hour gig as well, with no sleep, really would be pushing it.

Good luck to you, though.
my matiz is 0.8l and you'd be surprised at how fast it can go.

obviously i've never taken it over 70 but i'm fairly sure i could get it around 20mph higher if the need arose

btw after seeing the state of people who drove to manchester and back in the same day for the uefa cup final i'd say going to london and trying to drive all the way back in the same shift is a bad idea at best and outright life threatening at worst.
