well Heidi I agree with you ...but a newspaper article is not exactly the perfect reference to know how a concert was especially as this event was a fundraiser so the band and Jon are some sort of heroes status .. but I thought the set was - as expected from past similar events- very short and very blah ... but that's just me ... some happy campers (the usual set) will most certainly jump in and pour their polyana optimism about the whole thing ... trying to drown the vermit that ppl like me represent in their happiness .... LOL good luck trying ...
the only thing I should say is that I am not surprised by the blah thing .. the only "surprise" is the mixed structure of the set I hope the new tour is not gonna be new just because BM is the closing song

What an uninspired setlist!

I'm not sure what kind of setlist some of you thought the band should or would play.

It was not a Bon Jovi gig. It was a fundraiser that Bon Jovi were asked and agreed to play. The crowd was largely casual fans who were supposedly from the several reports in the party mood and enjoyed the setlist.

I will say that Jon just needs to forget about Glad All Over.

Glad All Over does nothing for me. I don't like the Dave Clark Five version, and I don't like Bon Jovi's version. It shouldn't open a show. Nor should any cover, IMO. A Bon Jovi song should open a Bon Jovi show, and preferably it should be a new song. The only cover that worked for me to open a show was Rockin' in the Free World. Even that should be used sparingly.

If they HAD to keep one cover, it should be Sympathy for the Devil in Keep the Faith. I do love that, but Sympathy is one of my favorite songs of all time, Bon Jovi or not. And I also like their version of Rockin' All Over the World.

It's not a set;ist any of us would be over the moon about but it was a setlist that suited the occasion and the crowd in attendance, Jon and the band were apparently very entertaining, and that is what they were there to do. As for Glad all Over, i can take it or leave it, but it does seem to be one Jon loves.

Totally agree with that! Rockin' in the free world is the best cover ever, specially for open a show! Very powerful song in Bon Jovi hands!
