To be honest I hadn't thought of that but sure - that will make things even worse

I'm with Brian - this may be more effort than it's worth. Though I'm sure I'll make the effort <sigh>

I must be crazy. I was pretty excited about flying up to NYC and hanging out with a million people. I may want to rethink that, huh? When things start to get too difficult, it's not meant to be. This may be one of those times for me. *sigh* This sucks.

I'm sure I'll make the effort as well since I'm going to be there that whole weekend before MSG anyway. LOL.
Wait and see GA girl, it may turn out fine.

Hmm... I was under the impression that this was going to be similar to the Garth Brooks concert at Central Park. People camped out days before and there were almost or about a million people there. From the sound of that article this involves tickets that seem to be tedious to get, but then again the concert isn't officially setup, so I'm sure once the concert is set, the details will follow- and it will not be as much of a nuisance. I will be at the MSG shows, but until the details are officially posted for the Central Park show, I am undecided for it.

Come on guys! Let's make this official!

Regards,

Jason F.

No it's not apparently. Looks like it will be a ticket only event which means NYPD will have the area blocked off and you will need one of these free tickets to get through to the actual area where BJ is playing. You will certainly be able to hear the show from outside the area but if you want to be able to see it up close you'll need a ticket.

This show is part of Major League Baseballs Allstar weekend, so it's geared toward that not just being a BJ show out in CP.

How much more commercial can this get? It would be better to pay for a ticket than deal with all these sponsors.

So if I drag a carload of people from Michigan to go to this thing, will I be able to get a ticket? If so, what is the best course of action to do so? I really don't want to drive all the way out there for nothing.

Okay, we're now just 16 days from July 12, and the Central Park show is still just a rumor. Since we've heard about a corporate sponsor for the show, I think I'm ready to stop blaming MLB for the hold-up and start blaming the City of New York. I'm thinking it has to be some sort of permit, security, etc. issue. Has anyone heard anything since the Bank of America connection came out? The latest I know of was that a couple of people on Backstage got email replies from BoA that said there was supposed to be a "formal MLB press conference" during the week of 6/23. Well guys, there's just one work day left in the week!

I'm going to delete the reference to the CP show from my signature. That ought to get things rolling!

Nope - haven't heard a thing. God knows I don't have tickets to the All Stars game. I do have a friend with an account at B of A but she says that nothing has been mentioned on that end either.

Where is this happening in CP - the great lawn? I could see how close I can get just to listen LOL.

Supposedly the great lawn, but since the whole blasted thing is just a rumor, who knows? ARGH. The rumor always included lingo about "tickets," but I don't even see how they could distribute tickets the All-Star ticket holders at this late date.
