Because it's just so freaking cool! I think it's more of a guy song. Everytime the subject of Bon Jovi comes up with guys I talk to, they usually tell me "I love that song Blaze of Glory." And, no, I don't correct them by telling them that it's Jon solo--I would only do that if I was not interested so someone would think I'm a little more psycho-obssessive than I really am. Throwing Bon Jovi trivia into a conversation is a great way to get a guy to back off.

The entire BoG album may be more of a guy album - since most guys I know absolutely love it. I have always loved that album despite the fact that (for me) the cowboy theme gets a little old. I think Jon's voice is at its finest and some of the songs on it are among the best he's written ie. Santa Fe. Perhaps the song Blaze of Glory is a bit overplayed but I still like it.

Yea..I do agree its A " guy song" or album. I have to say my guy LOVES that song and the album in general so it makes perfect sense . LOL I see your point about throwing Jovi in a convo sometimes though.
I guess I can say though a lot of my guy freinds like my guy own the cd or really like the whole thing. I just cant warm up to bang a drum or blood money , I dont like some talk through the entire song ( The one night at CAA was too much in my opinion I might hate it but wont ruin it for others who love it) or run for the concession stand ( I take pics durning it and keep goin ) I just often just not " absorb" it . Did I explain that right lol

As for lyrical content ...Ill give you its good , I wont deny he sounds good on them .

Ill add that Im always the person ..who loves the songs everybody really doesnt like well.THATS always been it for me , I usally NEVER love the hits , Ive always been weird lol so see where Im goin with this...
I love
Mystery Train ( fave song) ( I WAS lucky to see this performed 6 out of 7 times I beleive they did it , and the giants stadium soundcheck version 2001 and bein there WAS AMAZING)
Shes a Mystery
Wildflowers ( before I HEARD it I knew)
Damned
If I was your mother
Wild is The Wind
Id Die For you ( my opinion the best on slippery)
Tokyo Road
Only Lonely
Come Back

Maybe thats another reason I dont like it ..it was pretty radio freindly

Joey was my favourite song off Bounce but they never played it live when I saw them, I was gutted at the time.

Mystery Train is my favorite song too! I've heard it performed from the Japanese shows, but never got to see it in person and probably never will. I often favor less popular songs too. For instance, if I NEVER heard Bad Name live again, I wouldn't miss it.

First of all, great topic

Secondly, I love Mystery Train as well...and I'm a guy. It's a shame they never play it live, one of the best songs on Crush in my opinion. I love the metaphor.

Joey is really underrated as well in my opinion. Maybe it's because I have a physical handicap (cerebral palsy) but I can really relate to that song. I went to two shows on the Bounce tour and at both they played Right Side instead of Joey so I never got to hear it.

Off this record, I already think Bells Of Freedom is underrated. The emotion Jon sings that song with is just amazing. You can tell he really feels it but alas, much like Mystery Train live, it got a lukewarm reception and I'd be suprised to see it make it back into the set. I like Wildflower as well but it's a lot like Mystery Train, same general idea and feel.

I agree about Bells of Freedom.. it is one of my favorite songs on the album. The first time I heard it I could imagine Jon singing it live and putting alot of feeling into it. I really wanted to hear it live

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3
