This, coupled with the fact that our prices for products in general are higher than equivalents overseas, means the mentality IS different. Tickets at all levels are higher this time around than they were in 2008, with the diamond seating over $100 more, and don't get me started on packages -- and yet there hasn't been a peep locally compared to what we saw for the O2, Prudential, etc.

I know I'm a hypocrite for getting a diamond ticket and I won't fault people who do buy something they can afford. But I, and every other fan, also have every ****ing right to complain, whether it's for me or on behalf of other fans -- Next time it'll probably be $400 for diamond seats. On the These Days tour I think it was a little over AU $100. Supply and demand? Sure, but they're also making a calculated move to take advantage of people (not just in Oz), and it's the very people without whom this band would not exist.

Maybe complaining will make no difference but not complaining will definitely make no difference. I'd have loved Liam Bartlett to ask Jon about ticket prices even though that would've put him in an even fouler mood.
Here are the ticket prices for previous AUSTRALIAN TOURS.

SLIPPERY $30.10

JERSEY $37.40

KTF 43.60

THESE DAYS 52.90

ONE WILD NIGHT MELBOURNE 62.50

RUMBA FESTIVAL 99.00 BJ played 50mins

LOST HIGHWAY 99,149,199

THE CIRCLE 99,149,199,299 PLUS PACKAGES.

Its like that everywhere

In 2000 I paid £37.50 for a ticket, 2001 was £37.50, 2003 was £45,2006 it would have been £85 at Milton Keynes, 2008 was ermmmmmmmmm £85 for a GC ticket (can't remember), 2010 at the o2 cheapest for me was £85.

Maybe you can pay attention when jon tells you how tough it has been for everybody including"him" during Love's the only rule. The guy is a dead set fake. You have been conned that's all.If you think it's worth saving 400 buks for a show then good on you.But to almost everybody else here it's laughable.
If Jon is a 'dead set fake' then why would you even consider buying a ticket? If you don't think it's worth paying $300 to see them, then don't. But I thought that those prices were actually cheap. I'd expected to pay a lot more.

You can't buy an expensive ticket and complain about it, thats just silly.

I'd buy a ticket because i've been a fan for over 20 years that's why.

This band kicks major ass BUT...Jon getting up and preching about how times have been tough for everybody including"Him" is a fkn joke.Is Jon crying poor is he?

I ain't getting ripped off for 300 buks that's for sure.i'll leave that to people like you that have been "saving" to see them.

I hope you save up for the next time they come here because it'll probably be double. While i save to spend my money in front of a pool in Europe and then probably see them for half the price your paying for.Now that's what i call saving.

Not everyone goes just to see Jon.
It is about other band members and the band as a whole too.
I have a friend who loves the music but can't stand Jon. She is a huge Tico fan and loves seeing him play live.

It depends what you define as being 'ripped off'. I don't consider myself ripped off at all. I chose to pay $300 for my ticket, I can't very well turn around and complain, can I?

I don't even know if they will do another tour. That'd depend on another album, and there might not be one. They might decide to retire.
