I'm trying to find out some info on this. I *think* this is one of those kinds of shows where there are no seats near the stage and the headliner only plays an hour or so.

This doesn't really sound like the kind of show I want to attend. I asked on the KU board what it was like last year:

Folks stood out all day in the hot sun, luckily in the afternoon the beer and water and pop sales folk stopped by every hour. I went once but I wouldn't go back only because by the time I saw Keith, I was too tired to enjoy it. Then the buses to take you back to the hotels were late and infrequent but if you take your car and park it in the morning you should get a good spot close.

Finally the hotels are atrociouly expensive!

I'll see Bon Jovi in a high school gym.
It's an intresting strategy for them to play all these festivals.

Becky do you think they choose to play there by themselves or they have been "forced" ..I mean by the nashville record company or something .... because their fan basis is (I honestly think) NOT following them there (I checked backstage no one replied that thread and those replying said *I'm off on this one*)

At this juncture in their career, I don't see them being "forced" to do anything. Festivals are cost efficient and easy for them, why wouldn't they do these type of things to promote the record.

Hardly forced. It's a good way to promote themselves to country audiences. Don't worry plenty of fans will be there.

No, I don't think it's forced at all. They're way beyond that. I think they're tapping into a new (old) market. They haven't played in Wyoming since 1989. If I lived in the northeast or northcetral part of the USA, I wouldn't go to Wyoming for a show either!

Since I live in a place where they haven't played in nearly 20 years, I'm open to going anywhere and different places are best because it gives me a chance to see more of the world. Top that with the fact that Wyoming has been on my "Gotta Go There" list forever and this show does have some appeal to me, though not enough to fight a line starting at 6:00 AM. I may plan my Wyoming vacation for that week and go to the show, but it won't be that I'm going to Wyoming to see Bon Jovi. I'll be going to Wyoming to see Wyoming and timing it to see Bon Jovi too.

Hey Becky,

If you want to see 'NICE' Wyoming, you are going to have to travel North West after, or before the show .... there is not much around Cheyenne (besides the rodeo). If you do plan on travelling Wyoming this summer, let me know and I can give you a few good tips on places to go and some beautiful discreet roads to take. Wyoming is BEAUTIFUL! I make it a must to travel through every summer, and is in my top 5 states that I have narrowed down to retiring in.
