Default coming to leicester!!

heard a rumour, they could be dumping Coventry in 2011 and coming to the " walkers stadium" in Leicester, Milan mandric, has been talking for a few years about getting bands to come. I have a mate who works there and they are apparently in talks with a number of artists including the jove, even better its 5 mins from my house

Is it not boring to go to a gig just 5 mins away? I know it'll save a lot of money, but I find it fun when I go a long way.

Nope - not boring at all. I have been to Southside Johnny gigs at my daughter's school (less than 5 minutes away). In my mind - when the music starts - who cares where you are?

And in my case - Giants Stadium is only about 15-20 minutes away. I can't imagine being bored at a show there. And I've been to a pile of shows at Giants.

I agree with Kathleen. The best gig I've ever been to was a Bryan Adams show at Murrayfield in Edinburgh that was just 20mins from my old flat. The show was phenomenal and, as was said before, who cares where you are when the band you're there to see is on top form.

Hope Jovi ditch Hampden for Murrayfield... Ha! I can dream! LOL

this suggests stadium shows are gonna go ahead in 2011? i'm still unconvinced that will be the case, not that i'd be complaining if it does happen.

i prefer travelling distances for gigs. it just adds to the idea of a 'day-out.' there's not too many arenas for artists i like nearby anyway. st mary's stadium is the closest i'm ever likely to see bon jovi.

I dont mind going to gigs that are far away but i definately prefer closer ones! The arena where work is about 15 minutes away and that gets all the major acts (apart from the stadium tours obviously) so thats really convenient!

The jovi shows ive booked in london should be good and like oli said th travelling adds to the ecitement but its gonna be expensive!
